Hi,
I recently logged on to the DHS LMS portal using the ID given to parents and it looks that it is not very active nor updated...Can I check if there's any portal which DHS uses to update students and parents on the school's activities / important messages etc. or the LMS is the only portal for parents? I do get the school's (hardcopy) circulars from time to time and was wondering if I have missed out on anything else.
Thanks

Hi,
May I know what are the usual school hours for DHS?
I heard that DHS students need to do project/homework till midnight from sec 1. Is that true across IP students or particularly so in DHS?
Thanks so much. -

Many have been saying that Yr1 is referred to \"Honeymoon period\" of the 6 yrs IP education....Hi,

Thus ...Yr1 is alrdy considered as the most relax yr of the 6 yrs...
Real Heavy workload will come-in in Yr3 and beyond...
Not everyday, they need to stay up late in yr1... Unless they are rushing to meet projects' deadline...
And it's true that DHS does have lots of projects to do...
In a way, that's good as these pupils are very hands-on wrt to projects since Yr1...
Which may explains how they can achieve a whopping of 93.X% of Distinctions in PW in recent A level results...
Of coz, if the pupil is in 2 CCAs, third lang and actively engage in other sch activities....
That will leave him or her not much time to complete homework/ assignments n projects...which leads to late nites...
But in short, Yr1 and Yr2 are definitely manageable ... if one works efficiently...
Wrt to what is the usual hrs for Yr 1...
3 long days and 2 short days....
For long days, it can end ard 6.30 p.m for CCA or those taking 3 rd lang or electives...
Short day will be ard 2-3 p.m...
All days start at 8 a.m.... Fri will start at 9 a.m.... -

Augmum:
My DD has a CO from DHS (and also from NJC which means she has to make a decision soon). We read some of your old posts before deciding which school to DSA, and recently again. She likes the school environment (particularly the library), the seniors she has met, and the bicultural studies program. But there are other aspects of NJC that she likes too. I guess probably she is too excited (but confused) to explore all possibilities.
U're most welcome....zae:

Could you share about the bicultural studies program? Is the selection based on results of both Chinese and English in lower sec? Thanks so much for your time.
