      Chirunner:
      It's called Arcadia Restaurant.

Past Arcadia Restaurant in our walks before…Chirunner, can recommend any dishes?

Has anyone also considered Westlake that borderlines Farrer? We turn in from near King’s Arcade (DH drives, I don’t) through some of the smaller lanes rather than negotiate the crazy development at Farrer Road.

Ask for their signature dish- the hotplate prawns. We go for that n the usual cze char stuff- venison, claypot tofu, sweet n sour fish, French beans, sambal kangkong, lemon chicken…

Westlake’s been there for decades but somehow we’re not terribly fond of it…

We kinda like the tried and tested 😉 at Westlake...or mebbe we're too hungry by then. I like the fact that for hotplate toufu, can ask them to hold the chilli for the kids 🙂 Don't care too much for their kong bak pau 😐

Good and cheap food hard to find around Bukit Timah. Forture Seafood zhi char is not bad…its just before Tessarine Condo on the left. Only thing is it is crowded every night !

We discovered this place called 60s live seafood off Eng Neo Avenue last week,at the Greenways Driving range - nice ambience…they told us they open for breakfast and serve Nasi lemak and good coffee…yet to try b,fast there but should be reasonably priced compared to places like Riders Cafe or Picotin.

I haven't been for so long now. Yah I remember the hotplate tofu and the hot sour soup. I don't quite like the kongba pau too although I can't remember why we used to order it ...

Had dinner there some months back and food was only so-so. Service was poor and the China service staff couldn’t communicate in English.

I find the standard of food at Westlake drop a lot.

But that was many years ago …

You can also go to the NUS law faculty canteen for affordable food. For pricey steak there’s Black Angus there n Chinese Box (haven’t tried it myself). Along Evans Road there’s Mr Prata n Wine Company n another cafe. There’s also Taman Serasi foodcourt which isn’t very exciting ever since a new operator took over in Dec. Used to love to go there for kaya toast several times a week but don’t know where that toast operator’s moved to.

Off Eng Neo there’s also the fairly pricey Mimolette (been there a few times last year but don’t know if it’s still there). Love the ambience. La Picotin is really pricey. As bad as Choupinette next to Coronation where you pay up to $20+ for breakfast per person! Now how
many of us can afford that on a regular basis or would want to spend that kind of money?? For Ang mo breakfast that’s cheaper, try Guthrie House. The gelato cafe serves fairly affordable breakfast n there’s Simply
Bread that’s also at Cluny Court. Still, can’t beat the kopi tiam at Sixth Ave or Greenwood!
