Can anyone tell me if the health check which maids have to go through before the employer picks them up include a pregnancy test? Please advice.


I noticed my helper vomitting once last week and once just now. I hope she is not pregnant.

I believe it does include pregnancy test.

Maybe she experiencing sympathetic pregnancy cos you are preggie.

If she is still vomiting and you really suspect, get her to pee in a cup then do the pregnancy test in your presence.

Haha.. She has 3 boys already. Eldest is 14 while youngest is 4. I just got her the SIM card yesterday after she worked for 2 weeks. Fast learner. So far I'm quite satisfied

Is it possible for a Singaporean who is working, to employ a full-time maid to stay with and take care of his/her elderly parent? This elderly parent is not staying in the same address as the Singaporean child, has no income, and needs someone to take care of her everyday, ranging from assistance with walking, toileting, bathing, and also to cook and wash and clean up the house.

I know MOM policy is the maid must only be working for the employer, but if the elderly parent is staying alone and needs care, and cannot employ one herself - can't her children employ on her behalf?

My maid broke my humidifier and did not even say sorry or appear sorry.


She has been with me for close to 2 years and lately she seems to be on holiday mood already!

NEVER ever has she said sorry to me or my family for doing wrong things. Whenever she did the wrong things, I remind her and never ever did I raise my voice at her. But BLACK FACE is what she always show me and I have been tolerating her bad attitude for close to 2 years. We treat her well but her attitude is very bad, like as if we owe her a lot of things! It has never improved but only getting worse.

Wondering if all Filipino maids are like that? Anyone experienced similar attitude with Indonesian maid?

Same for Indon and Myanmar maids. My Myanmar maid broke the lock of my window, damaged the hinge of my window so that it cannot be opened, scratched my piano, .... No apology. Nothing. Do not even know what happened wor. And will never be able to understand English during such situations.

You said that she is too old to employ a maid. That's what I was referring to. I don't think there's any rule that says employer must not be too old.

My ex Filipino is also like that. Ask her why the floor so dirty, didn't clean? Her reply is \"The floor is dirty not because I didn't clean, it's because your house too dirty\" :slapshead:

What I had meant, was not whether there's any rule to prevent anyone that is too old, to employ a maid.
I meant that this old woman, at 105, is simply too old and frail and it is illogical to expect her to go and employ a maid by her self.
And the question is whether the law allows one of her children to be the applicant to hire a maid, but the maid is supposed to stay with and take care of the elderly woman.
