      all.in.one:
      Si liao! 😢

My girl's into ballet, no choice but have long hair.
I do not want her to be less smart than her mummy cos mummy has short hair during her hay days in school and did well!!!
Nevermind, after ballet exam, cut to back length, no so bad right, skunk? 😉
how come learn ballet must have long hair? What has dancing got to do with hair?

I'm sure there are exceptionally smart girls with long hair, but i'm not the only one to observe the general trend. (not exceptions lah lol)

I wonder whether bimbotic girls pester to have long hair, or long hair encourages bimbotism LOL

just a reminder, top psle n top 'o' level girls both have pony tails.

Bimbotic girls have long hair is true BUT long hair girls are not bimbiotic nor less clever la.

Successful career women like to keep short hair to have that iron look so as to compete with their male counterpart. Too ladylike looking, people will gossip about her success. Successful business women reporting to herself keep hair long like Claire chiang but as they age, long hair does not go well with aging face so most will end up with short hair. If long hair is insisted then gotta bun up.

Bottomline, if long hair has expiry date, then I would say keep it long for as long as your face can take you.

I'm not really talking about that kind of long...I'm talking about that kind that reaches down to the waist.

Anyway, there's no point in discussing exceptions, like i've said, there will always be exceptions. Top students, as well as MPs, are exceptions.

Even you yourself agree, most bimbos will have long hair, but not all with long hair are bimbos....the question is, what is their relationship? Have other parents noticed any trends?

Top students and MPs are exceptions. And therefore they will not be considered bimbotic even if they spot long hair? Why? because you endorse their brains first.

So if you understand your own logic. Then you should understand that the bimbotic condition is fulfilled first, then you see the trend is long hair. So the relationship is simply ONE way...and it all starts with the Brain, stop thinking about the hair. If you are trying to suggest that keeping long hair can turn one bimbotic and further alluding that brain quality changes with one's hair length, then you are offending millions of women in the world, bad move.

And for your question about ballet relating to hair.
In ballet, for discipline purposes, to look neat and tidy, everything can be combed up, leaving a clean look on the face, even fringe or bangs not allowed for exams, strictly speaking. If group performance required, to look uniform, having long hair can achieve this better. If short hair, no choice, gotta use headband to push hair back and this can come off during dancing, anyone wants to take the risk, especially during exams?

This is not just for ballet, for gym, for any kind of dance for that matter. Long hair can also achieve many various hairstyles that suit the dance theme.

No need to spend money....there are heaps of these on youtubes. Just do a search on hair braiding.

                http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=hair+braiding&search_type=&aq=f

I did not learn from youtube, but I figured out all the hairstyles myself through experimentation.

yes, that is what i'm trying to suggest, if it offends, too bad. I'm just trying to see if there are others who think likewise.

A person's behaviour and characteristics do not TOTALLY come from the inside. Humans are all externally directed to some degree.

I've ever seen a hyperactive and noisy little boy totally transform his behaviour the moment he puts on a tuxedo. It's just some cloth, why does it have the power to alter his behaviour, even if it's just for a short while?

I've seen reserved and quiet little kids become playful and yelling tots the moment they're put inside an inflatable castle. How come the environment they are in has such a great impact on behaviour?

I believe subtle things like hair and clothes can have great impact, because they're semi-permanent, unlike the tuxedo which can be taken off.

My cousin is quite an intelligent person, from RGS and is now an accountant, but absolutely bimbotic....her conversation totally revolves around her shoes, clothes and handbag. It's not to say that bimbos are unintelligent....I'm sure there are some more like her.....but eeeewwww if my daughter is everyday only concerned about hair, clothes and handbag, I will kill her, then kill myself LOL kidding....I will just kill myself haha

Skunk I don't wish to dispute you but here's the definition for you...

                    Definition
                    bimbo noun
/ˈbɪm.bəʊ//-boʊ/ n [C] (plural bimboes or bimbos) slang
disapproving a young woman considered to be attractive but not intelligent

He went out with a succession of blonde bimbos.

(Definition of bimbo noun from the Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary)

Have a good weekend and chill.... :celebrate:

ok then, I shouldn't have used the word \"bimbo\".

Maybe I should be phrasing it in another way:

\"Will allowing young girls to have long hair, encourage them to be overtly vain and focus on external beauty to the detriment of other more important things in life?\"

there's nothing to dispute. There are young girls with long hair who definitely are not overtly vain or unintelligent.

I'm more concerned about general trends.

Just like saying \"Fat people are generally lazier\", will make alot of fat but hardworking people angry. It still doesn't dispute the fact that a recent study has found that fat people are indeed perceived by most as being lazy, not withstanding the fact that \"lazy\" itself is subjective.
