May be you should do PV for your first choice, popular school and shortlist another runner up that does not require balloting in phase 2C in case 1st choice balloting fails at phase 2B... if this is still the system in 6 years' time!!! I always thought fathers are less kiasu then mothers. But now you daddies have broken the golden rule
Hi Janet_lee88,janet_lee88:
Hi Worryfather,
If you are worrying about P1 registration, how about considering the schools around your area ? Can consider moving within 1km within the school of choice. But definitely too early to write in to be Parent Volunteer (PV).
Thanks for the advice. Now I am just looking at the neighbourhood schools around my area. within 1km also need to ballot..
So, looking at whether to go for schools which no need to ballot or choose a good school and do PV.
What about you?
are your kids in primary school already? -
janet_lee88:
yeah.. i agree... when bought house as newly weds, really don't bother about the school.. hahaa..Hi Worryfather,
My son is in P4 this year, daughter in K2.
Well, we registered son in the school within 1km walking distance, but under Phase 2B as we were lucky to be chosen to do parent volunteer.
It so happens there is a good school around my housing estate when we bought our flat. But of course as newly weds, who would think so far?
Doing PV is no guarantee of getting into the school. Same goes for balloting within 1km. Lots of uncertainties. Perhaps by then the schools around your place are going to popular. It's too early to tell. In any case, all the best. Enjoy your daughter for now. Kids grow very fast.
well, shall see how it turns out later for my neighbourhood school.. -

no wonder you can start to 'prepare' your 15 months daughter for PSLE since she already secure a place in the school.
Haha actually I am the opposite. I don't really keep up with my kids' schoolwork that much. I already live within 1 km of my 15month old's future school !!! But that is because I already have another daughter in the school already. ; )
your wife doing the tracking of your kids schoolwork?
what school is your daughter attending? -
 Hi there and Welcome!

I don't really know the schools in Woodlands yet, so won't know which one will be my first choice. I think I will definitely need to explore more.. that's why i am here.
all.in.one.. no we are not 'kiasu'.. we just prefer to be well-planned..
