          Hi Reddiechan,

So sorry to hear that your son feared going to school. My youngest son who is pri 4 now looks forward to going school everyday. In fact, during the recent 1 week sch break, he actually misses sch and his friends!!

I hope it’s a better experience for your son in his secondary sch!

              Hi shoebutton,

All my 3 boys had their fair share of wonderful teachers and teachers that just teach. As for the classmates, my 2 bigger boys fostered friendships that last till today (eldest son alr 19 yrs old and 2nd son is 15). They still regularly meet up dur holidays for movies, football etc. Of course, there were classmates that werent same frequency, then they just remain as classmates.

From p3 onwards, all my boys were given opportunity for leadership positions eg team leader, monitor, library IC, junior prefect, ICT monitor etc… In my opinion, the sch creates many positions so as to groom the boys.

I’m not sure if I’ve answer your question fully. But feel free to post your questions and I’ll try my best to answer them.

                Another thing to add...

The sch not just focus on academic pursue, they organises loads of other events and activities for example, all pri 3 boys will attend a 2 days 1 nite camp held in sch dur the June holidays. This camping trip helps the boys to b independent in a safe & controlled environment. In fact, for many of the boys, it's their first time away fr their parents. And for all pri 4 boys, the sch will bring them to malacca for a 3 days 2 nites trip, of course the trip is highly recommended but not compulsory. I guess, it's through this kind of activities and events that my kids bond w their friends and teachers and thus developed a strong sense of belonging.

I'm quite sure if I were to ask my youngest son what is it about sch that he likes, he will definitely tell me - his friends and teachers (not all, of course) 🙂

For this year and last yr, p5 boys who take HCL dont’ have to stay back for extra HCL lessons. However, there are supplementary lessons for EMS and HCL as well. They don’t teach CL separately, although they are given CL worksheets from time to time.

How often do they need to stay back ? I am considering whether to let DS continue with taking school bus.

supp lessons are usually Mon and Tues (this year and last year), sometimes they end at 245, sometimes 345.
