Then there's another episode when they had a Bio relief teacher who lamented about myriads of unrelated stuff during lesson time and didn't dwell on the relevant. And then she'd throw tantrum at the boys every so often, once she tore the screen for the projector when she was in such a bout and everybody had to keep quiet about it. You'd probably ask me why. Because whenever anyone complains to the form teacher (whom I expect to 伸张正义), she'll slam all objections down and nothing is to be heard of those after that, and the problems all seem to stem from the boys' 'bad' behaviour.
Other than these random episodes of unhappiness which 增添色彩 for everyday life - as I'd expect would prop up every so often in most schools and workplaces - most people seem happy.
Ok, this is just from one perspective. You never know how a bunch of monkeys...no, boys, can irk you till no tomorrow and activate colourful and creative ways of self-protective reactions.
The other one was from phankao about the strong Indian accent Bio teacher.
It was just a habit that almost everyone started picking up.
Imitation of accents is a good thing - I can only do a few though such as PRC Chinese accent (of Mandarin), American and African American - British accent is a big no-no for me :nunchuk:

I mean, isn’t it contradictory? Just trying to scare us and indirectly say that Combined Science is a form of punishment, a bad choice.
Just saying, I was rather angry because I’m someone who is terrible at Science, likely gonna be going into Combined Science (because I’m more of a language and humanities person and I’m going to take those courses in the future) but his threats make the whole atmosphere sound like I’m unwelcome and not as intelligent as the others. -

From the 'Choosing your sec schs 2014' booklet, the 'subjects offered' for CHS does not include Science (Phy/Chem) or Science (Bio/Chem) which are listed by most other schools. Same go for St Nicholas' & some sch with COP > 240. My friend, whose dd is in St Nick's, said their sch does not have combined Sci option.
Imo, triple Science is not the most popular option in some schs now. As the trend for Uni has shifted towards Biz Admin as the most popular course now, triple Sci seems to have lost its lustre. For example, in my dd's sch, the 'best' class is pure Bio & Chem instead of triple sci. That is, it's easier to get into triple sci than double sci (bio & chem) classes.
Can anyone confirm on this: My friend's dd from Anderson claimed that her teacher tried to discourage pupils from changing from pure sci to combined sci (even if they can't cope) on the ground that top/better JCs give priority to pupils with pure sci. I thought admission is solely based on L1R5? -

Idk...? Ask him maybe? Not everyone is good at Maths & Sciences.
Combined science is Physics/Chemistry - there is no Bio/Chemistry or Phys/Bio for choice -

I just checked with my son about the Combined Science. He confirmed that it is only Phys/Chem. Well, some students would take this option, why not? I don't see why Triple Science is less popular or otherwise. In reality, there is no necessity to do Triple science since you cannot do that at A-levels due to the new requirement of having \"constrasting\" subjects in your combination at both A & O levels. For Science students at A-levels, often, they would take Bio, Chem, Math and one other constrasting Humanities subject, OR Physics, Chem, Math & one other constrasting. Think I've not heard many doing Physics, Bio, Math combination for Science. Likewise for Humanities students, they would often do 2 Humanities subjects and Math and then 1 constrasting A-level subject in Science.
For JC entrance, they can apply under \"Science\" or \"Arts\" combinations. The Cut-off-Points generally differ a little. It doesn't matter whether the student did mostly science or humanities at O-levels if they have the requisite subjects at O-levels that allow them to continue that particular subject at A-level. -
Sulphate is UK spelling. Sulfate is US spelling.
Bio can be a self - study subject, when one has motivation to do so. A teacher’s role is to guide and explain concepts, help with demonstrating experiments and so forth. I had a really inspirational Bio teacher at O level, then a not so concerned one at A level. Due diligence with lots of reading up helped a lot, as with would be for most other subjects. -
About subj combi for sec 3, are the options same for ‘O’ lvl track and IP track?
