Just went to Pei Chun webiste to download the application form for PV, and the volunteering hours have ballooned to 80! Am very concerned if I can fulfill the hours within one year and may have to do volunteering on my own without spouse. Has anyone done PV for Pei Chun before? What areas does the school prefer? Are the duties done over a period of 1 or 2 hours each time? Thanks!

      80 hrs now !! 😓

we are doing for PCPS now, they have weekly CCA 1-2 hours type event, these are usually in the afternoon 1-3 pm type ... terrible for working parents.

Their anniversary concert rehersal, moving musical instruments, make up etc, clocked 20 hours anniversary concert related alone.

Children day carnival 10 hrs, Math trail about 6 hrs twice.

We will hit 58 hrs by mid Oct !! almost there .... 😄 :xedfingers:
But having said, this is achieved by grabbing almost every single actitivies. We provided office email address so that we get email first time and reply immediately.

Good Luck, if they want 80hrs they should have job for 80 hrs.

Thanks Aloyboy! Your year 60hours?? So lucky..I'm half-hoping I don't get selected. They are actually dissuading working parents from signing up. Stress...

          Hi,

Want to find out more abt Tao Nan PV, saw that we are able to register PV for Tao Nan for child born in yr 2009, according to their eligibility we have to reside within 1km. Want to find out now I’m residing out of 1km but am looking for a place within 1km can I still go ahead with the application? Or the application will be totally rejected?

            Hi

Can i know when is the registration for parent volunteer work open? My kid is born in 2010, was told registration for PV is when she’s turns 4. When she’s 5 - do PV. 6 yrs - register for P1. Is that true?

I just called up my idea sch - West Grove Pri. Was told that the registration for PV on P1 is only 1 yr before. But based on my forum check, seem like PV need to be done way before hand. Anyone can enlighten me?

            Thanks.

different school different practise as the schools have full autonomy on execution.

essentially, parents must complete the required number of hours before the P1 registration exercise.

I believe that there will be more schools considering removing the PV scheme with the introduction of the new policy to have \"40 places reserved before the start of the P1 Registration Exercise\". If the school still proceed with the PV scheme, there will be more angry parents at the end.

It's all about chicken and egg issue. 🤷

Check with you guys... Not applying for NYPS but curious to know how pple applied for PV at NYPS since the emailmeform link they provided has always reached maximum quota? This form has been like this since early this year... never been cleared once. So how did you apply? Call the school and send via email directly?
