Thanks!
Calculated on 7 subjects. Third lang can be taken as substitute for a humanities subject. Science is counted as one subject.MotherHen:
Hi! Is final GPA tabulated based on L1R5, or average of all subjects? Also, is 3rd lang counted?
For Science, if my girl has taken Physics & Chem this year, is this counted as 2 subjects or treated as just Science (ie, one subject)?
Is there a certain GPA that the girls are expected to get?
Thks!

I believe the promotion criteria is min. GPA of 2.0 as an average of 7 subjects. And a pass is required for Philosophy and Research Studies. That's what I remember being told, anyway. -

A question: does the school release the mean and median scores for each subject? When? My daughter just got some results, but we can’t judge how well (or not!) she’s done unless we have some idea of the spread of marks in the cohort. She isn’t the kind who goes around asking everyone for their grades, and we wouldn’t want her to.

In the mid-year report, they gave the median for each subject. I suppose it should be the same for year-end. -

Thanks! I guess we'll just have to wait. Does RGS issue a report book or do they hand out a piece of paper? This is my daughter's first semester in school, so we don't know what to expect.slmkhoo:

To be honest, I don't know either. This is DD's first year in school. The mid-year results were posted on iNET, so I just saved a soft copy.

How will the eoy result be tabulated? Will it include result fr the earlier semester? Anyone has any idea??

Yes, the overall GPA for each subject will take the earlier marks into consideration. EYA is only about 30%-40% weightage of the overall grade. The remaining 60% are from the earlier assessments. There is this assessment file that you can get from inet. The file shows the weightage and assessment components by subject. I have been using that file to keep track of my daughter's grades. So with the return of the EYA, I could compute her overall grade for each subject. In fact, most of the results are returned except for Literature. We have already computed her overall GPA. -

The e-report will be released on 1 Nov but the report book will only be given out when school reopens next year. I remember reading this from somewhere.
