I remember that my mum gave me my aunty's clothes (My aunty was in Uni when I was in P6) to wear when I was a teenager. Looked so ugly and old fashioned on me.

        This is so funny!!! :rotflmao:

Funny meh.. When I was 12-14, I hated wearing those skirts covering my knees and those weirdo blouses that never match with anything.. I look like a total idiot back then :frustrated: 😒

My brother would also laugh at me.. Trying to dress like a little adult

My student told me that her P5 sister is already putting on makeup.

Some girls bloom earlier and very conscious of their looks, etc...

Others like my dd can't be bothered. She is like a \"tomboy\". She don't like to wear dress (except school uniform). But fortunately, we see that she is starting to develop her fashion sense recently. She would carry handbag, etc... but she is definitely not into boys yet. I still have to nag at her to wash her face, brush her teeth and take care of her complexion...

My similar age niece is alot more girlie and even has suitor now. Seeing some of the comments on my niece's fb pages among peers, it appear that BGR is the in thing in her school. However looking at my kids (P5 and P6) as well as their peers (classmates and cca mates), it appear that they are not into those.

my son in sec 1 said he doesn't wish to have a girlfriend :xedfingers: because his classmates' grades drop when they have a gf/bf.

his classmate (a girl) was called to see the counsellor 6x because she had been failing. the other classmate was not keen to study either...one boy in his tuition group kept sms-ing another girl during lesson...the raging hormones during this stage is really hard to manage.

i recently realised that nowadays kids use vulgar languages so \"fluently\" :slapshead:

i read DD's group chat (and sometimes she showed me) with classmates and literally see most of the comments from her frens will include such words (those typical hokkien beng/lian's style)..... i ever warned DD that i don't stop her from making frens, but she shd know which are the habits she shldn't pick up fm her frens... lucky most of her reply on such comments were either :rotflmao: or :faint:

there was once she accidentally use the word \"walao-eh\", i started to :stompfeet:

sometimes i started to wonder should i step in to interfere on her choice of friends. :scratchhead:

                    That is vulgar? :scratchhead:
I'm serious...always thought it's just an exclamation or a mutation of the 'wal@n eh' which, of course, is vulgar.

i would say it is uncouth.

I just realized that school is only 3 weeks left. After that, our children are no longer a kid 😒
