Thank you very much. What are these group projects that you have mentioned in your post?looking4Tutor:
There are 2 SIP classes about 20 student each. Yes, more like Q class. Yes above MSG 3 and those who fail their group project will make their way there.
BY THE WAY those who failed group project are not necessary have MSG above 3. They might have MSG 2 just for whatever reasons failed their project.
It will be interesting to see how many SIP student make it back to Sec4 IP this year. -

Pushing standard higher = more stringent promotion criteria?Nebbermind:
Is that only about 10% of the S1 intake?
For this year yes. But it varies from year to year. If HCI is to push the standard higher, which is a wrong games plan, you will see more Straight Into Poly classes. -
Hi looking4tutor,
Thanks for the link. Am I right to say that for such projects, you get to choose your own teammates and topic? And students need to do such projects every year? -
PiggyLalala:
Yes, there is a possibility to team up with irresponsible mate/s. That is the no.1 recipe for failure.Hi looking4tutor,

In sec 2 parent symposium this year, the message was 1 SIP class per consortium except iSpark which does not have enough to form a class (ie. they do better). And that it is 20 per consortium. So there would be 3 classes of these.Nebbermind:

Oh dear, this is bad. It would be better if the school allows the students to form their own group.

HCI students seem to look at poly as an escape route. If you see the cut off points at the popular poly courses, i dont think the chances to get into the popular courses are very high esp, going purely base on results...Nebbermind:

Is the calculation of msg based on 6 subjects? What are the subjects in the lower sec? Are history and geography considered as 2 subjects or one? Thanks.
