      WeiHan:
Maybe, parents and students of NJC would like to share what is the school system like.

Do you ask weaker students to leave? Do you have O level classes? Do you retain students?

How many such students are there in each cohort? Or, NJC is so special that there are really so few such students to deal with in each year.
Think no one here works in the admin dept. Maybe no answers.

      Edit:
      1. This thread has sharings from parents and students on how they felt about the sch, some aspects of the sch system.

      2. \"Do you ask weaker students to leave?\" I thought the sch is the right person to answer this qn. Hence my original post \"Think no one here works in the admin dept. Maybe no answers.\"

      3. \"Do you have O level classes?\" I believe no such class, based on what I was told during the Open House and from my elder boy.

      4. \"Do you retain students?\" Again, I feel that the sch is the right person to answer this qn.

      5. Number of students in each cohort (JH) is around 200+/- according to the recent Open House briefing. If exact number of students is required, need to call up the school to verify.

      6. \"NJC is so special that there are really so few such students to deal with in each year.\" At the recent Open House, a parent asked whether a student can registered as a private sch candidate to sit for 'O' levels. After addressing this, the teacher went on to say only a small % of students cant cope n hv to leave despite the support programmes. No exact figure is given. No one at the briefing asked for exact figures.

That day open house got 1 parent asked this question. The vice principle said, there is no O'level class in NJC. The school will try their best to help the weak student but if the student still unable to cope, they will request the student to transfer school.

Are the students even curious and concern enough to look around and find out how the rest of the cohort fair? 200 is a big size.

JH4 students are sitting for the HCL 'O' levels on 6th Nov.

According to my boy, the students are having full day Chinese lessons in school - intensive revision.

Back home, need to do worksheets.

            Jiayou all JH4.

:? your statement implies NJC students are not curious and not concerned. This forum is frequented largely by parents. The teens have more stuff that requires their attention than to visit KSP forum. And most teens do not report every single happening at school to their parents.

Unless you remove your biasness, nothing said here will satisfy you nor change your deeply negatively rooted impression of NJC. There is no need for anyone to prove their school is superior and above others nor otherwise.

200 is very small if you compare with HCI, RI, RGS, NYGH, RVHS, DHS. About half their intake.

There are students who leave on their own accord along the way. Very few. Maybe 1 or 2 a year only. There are students who leave after year 1 to other schools not bc they cannot cope but they prefer the O-level system (end up they are top students in those O-levels schools. Maybe they like that ego boost).

The greatest hurdle so far it seems is getting thru Year 3. That's the year that the school is more stringent. Students which the school think cannot make it eventually thru the IP system will be asked to leave at this juncture. Bc I think students would have better chance of finding an O-level school that they prefer to, to redo their Sec 3 year (no school would take in at Sec 4, right?). I think so far only less than a handful of students leave at year 3. Those that really consistently cannot make the GPA or have attitude problems to studying and have problems being coached/helped by the school. Some students go overseas, some go to Private schools, etc.
                .

Hi Jennifer. I remember reading you writing that you don’t like the students of that school opposite NJC. Is there biasness?

I wont hv said I do not like the students. If I have posted sth that implies \"I do not like the students\", then I extend my apology here.

I said I do not like the school, does this mean I am biased against the school?
