MY helper is going back in mid nov. I am not sure when i should go online to cancel her permit.

She has been with me for close to 2 years and lately she seems to be on holiday mood already!

NEVER ever has she said sorry to me or my family for doing wrong things. Whenever she did the wrong things, I remind her and never ever did I raise my voice at her. But BLACK FACE is what she always show me and I have been tolerating her bad attitude for close to 2 years. We treat her well but her attitude is very bad, like as if we owe her a lot of things! It has never improved but only getting worse.

Wondering if all Filipino maids are like that? Anyone experienced similar attitude with Indonesian maid?

Nowadays quality of the maid sucks! I have a new maid barely with me for 1 month. Not only we have to take care of her, has to nag at her to wash he clothes. I f out she didn't wash her clothing for over 10 days!!!!! Faint. Worst, she complaint to my agent that she can cope with my cooking where she only cooks 1 meal dinner. Simple dinner 3 dishes! I one leg kick her to the agency. :rant:

My Filipino maid also like that..She is only with us for nine months only. Everyday, she will show me a very black face despite treating her well. When I chauffeured her to send money back home, she would be happy for three days . Thereafter, on the fourth day , back to square one. My helper ..she also does not have any initiative. Whenever, she does anything wrong, she will try to defend herself. She likes to use crying as a weapon. During the nine months with us, I never raise my voice to scold her . Whenever, I tried to tell her things, I always get stressed on how to tell in a very nice manners or she will break down and cry.Even despite telling her in a gentle manner, she will still break down and showed BLACK face whole day. So I can understand how you feel...Sometimes, it really dampen your moods ..

Hi, wonder if anyone has any experience in bringing in your own maid from the Philippines? My ex-maid wanted to come back to work for me and when I asked around, the market rate for direct hiring range between $2600-$2800 and that is no guarantee that she will be back to work for me. I am really worried about paying the money and still no maid in the end. Hope anyone with similar experience can give some advice. Thanks.

Problem is my maid is going back home first and wants to come back again to work after 2 weeks. Have already booked her an air ticket home. She leaves in 4 weeks time. What is the fastest and most economical way to help her get a transfer?


Or can I renew her work permit, allow her to go back home, pay her own passage back to Spore then transfer to new employer? Is this feasible?

If I can help her find a new employer, can we avoid using an agency? Is the paperwork involved daunting?

My tortoise is sick.


My maid told me it refuses food since two days ago.

I went to the pet shop to ask for 'medicine'.

Shop owner told me my tortoise is quite big oredi (about 5 years old) and so cannot anyhow feed medicine. He suggested to sun the tortoise, twice a day for 30 minutes each, for 1 week then see how.

So I told my maid to do so.

This morning, I was sitting at my dining table sipping my coffee.

Then I saw my maid took the tortoise out from the aquarium, put it in an empty container, and brought it to a part of the house when there's sun.

She spoke to the tortoise, \"Why? Why don't want to eat? We go for some sun huh...\"

I observed her 'interaction' with the tortoise with much amusement and felt touched.

Before I left the house, I told her I have poor appetite today and asked her to cook something spicy for dinner for me.
