Any recommendation on maths enrichment class for P1?

Lils precious, what will you do if you cannot find a student care? I am really very frustrated already.Called the inhouse student care and asked if they received my email. The answer I get is they cannot help as they already taken in a class of 40 this year.


Though I understand that they do have their constraints but the message put across to me is that they did not even bother to look at the appeal. While they may be overwhelmed by anxious parents trying to appeal, this is not acceptable response.

I also not sure what i should do now. Been anxiously look high and low for student care. But all respond from the student care is either full or wait list and same don't even accept wait list.

i trying to look for nanny too and worst case, my hubby has to take care my son in the afternoon till i come back from work, as he is working as driver.

Really going crazy on this after school care issue.

Lils precious, I fully emphatise with u. I have raised the issue before with then i also MCYS as i had foresaw this happening. But the reply was cursory and not helpful. I also raised the issue with the MP of the area. I leave it to you to conclude the outcome. I still have not managed to get more student care facilities in our area. They could be working on it but there is no communication at all on any plans.


Getting a nanny might be the best way out but we don’t know them personally and trust takes time to build.

Lils precious, can try to call dowell tuition centre at compassvale Bow, as there’s also do have student care too. Just reg my son ysterday. Can give a try. contact number for that centre left at home, but you can contact branch at buangkok crescent at 6881 3919 and ask for the number. Hopefully there’s a vacant.

Eu ern, concurred with your thoughts . I am also rejected for SK Green student care. May i know when did you bring up this issue with the authorities ? I see a need to escalate this at a national level.

Cheepoozz, I started asking about this because I don’t want to be caught offguard. It was when MSF was still MCYS. It was also the time where there were a lot of talk about increasing childcare vacancies to support young families. I am particularly disturbed because should they increase childcare vacancies without increasing student care vacancies, it is foreseeable that there will b a bottleneck. These children are going to outgrow childcare to enter studentcare. When parents place their children in childcare, it usually mean they don’t use helper or don’t prefer to leave their children with helper at home.


It is not convenient for me to push the issue to a higher level due to certain constraints.

Thanks Eu Ern.. so lost now.. dunoe what to do for next yr since DS cant get into the student care.. i am sure a lot of us will raise this concern during the orientation next week

School is unlikely to give any solutions as there are no available student care centre in neighboring blocks or in vicinity. My colleague’s child in Sengkang Primary told me that the principal actually inform parents of alternative student care centres in the vicinity. Some comfort at least.


Any parent here stay home and can take in one or two children? There will surely b takers. My ds is likely to be a wandering kid with no fixed arrangements when school starts. Still trying his current childcare.

So Cheepooz, how are you indicating in the form on how child is picked up after school?

Eu Ern, i have not gone thru the admission forms in detail.

i see a need to escalate this matter… most of us are dual income familes with kids in childcare since 18 months… now as a result of bad planning by govt/schools… we are all caught in this limbo. Like i said, perhaps collectively, we should get the school /MOE to look into this issue
