      Double E,

high 5 back Yes, DS4 is in Faith 1. Two weeks already. Initially, I brought him to Beloved 2. Then a kind lady told me about Faith 1. I remembered what Pastor said. That if we sick, we should see a doctor but our trust is in the Lord, not the doctor. So I opted for Faith 1. He seems to be enjoying the 1-1 teacher student ratio. Your kids? You which service one ah? I go MBS 11.30pm. Star too crowded.

      Nebbermind,
      Yes, NCC

those prepping for PL, this is the link to the SPED application form.

        http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/special-education/application/

Start making your prep now even if your first choice is mainstream because you need to make appointments for psychologist assessments, school assessments and medical assessments not to mention waiting for the reports thereafter. Waitlist will be long espcially if you need KKH's referrals. You can also apply for both mainstream and PL at the same year. PL's admission deadline is earlier but you then need to wait for the assessment to be done by the school. In the meantime, register for primary one between July-Aug (this one is a bit sensitive as you might be taking up a place in a \"hot\" school). then make the decision after weighing both options carefully.

Just got this after sending a simple email request, example of the type of patience and time required :censored:

          Dear Mrs XX,

Thank you for your email to Dr XX. We have forwarded your message to both Dr XX and Nurse-in-charge.

We are currently tracing your child’s casenotes for reference. Please be informed that it may take up to two weeks for our doctors to respond to you. Kindly contact us at XX if you do not hear from us within two weeks.

          Thank you.

          Regards,
          Department of Child Development

            nugget:

Thats a good plan but better confirm if the priority is still in place. Last I read somewhere, is still dependent on the assessment results. Probably priority is given to those ARC EIPIC students whom have passed the assessment testing.
strange. I am sure 3 months ago I saw on their website that PL gives priority to ARC. I even showed my missus and we discussed it thoroughly before applying to ARC. It seems their website now omits to mention it. To those I gave a wrong impression, I apologize.
            nugget:
If you don't mind me asking, how did you came to realize your son is mildly autistic when he is 2?
DS4 had no speech at 2. We thought he was a quiet boy. I dunno what prompted me to research more. Saw his PD to check it out just to be safe. She suggested a formal diagnosis at NUH. The diagnosis comprised of 2 tests. He met the characteristics of ADOS and fell outside the CARS. The final assessment was a \"Diagnosis Withheld\" because it is 1 out of 2 test, which is like a WTF to me, do you know what is happening to my son?? Nonetheless, it recommended early intervention.

After that kind doctor made me look stupid with the \"what private or public, do BOTH and chiong for your son!\" comment, we rushed intervention. He was 2.5 yo when we got him formal help.

Thanks for sharing. Yes, I also doing pte and public. I do believe the early intervention helps a lot. They need guidance and exposure. Good thing with your older kids around, they can help to train your son as well.

I need to manage my son expectation. Cos I believe come one day, he will not be happy when his younger bro exceed him in some ways. Cos one thing for sure, my son loves being the big brother and can be quite bossy at times. Lol.

Double hi-five. I also attend the 11.30am service at MBS.
My boy is in Beloved 2. I told the teachers he is mildly autistic but I would like him to try Beloved 2 first. However, I also told the teachers that if they eventually think that he is better in Faith classes, I am ok to switch him. But so far, he is doing well in Beloved 2, no major concerns from the teacher so I leave it as that.

Too often, we forget the great strength behind us (believers) and thought we could solve the problem by ourselves.

I cite this example to show how decisions can affect the child. I will let you decide yourself what to glean from it bah.

\"Autism, Speech delay, slow development, I call you by name. Be Thou plucked from your roots and be thou thrown into the sea. Leave my son in Jesus Name\"

I like the part where you wrote \"Yes I believe my boy's weakness now (speech) shall be his greatest strength in due time!\". Where our weaknesses are, his Grace will super abound πŸ™‚
Thanks, daddy tyeogh, you had me tearing up there!

Sure I will use the same prayer above as well. Grace, Grace!
