To some extent, having an NT child is a constant reminder of what my Asperger's child is not. So I guess because it's constant, I'm mostly used to the idea.

There are bound to be low moments. I am experiencing a trough now with my doter cos she seems to be going backwards on her listening skills. Very frustrating and worrying especially since her baselines seem to be dropping based on her current.

I don't know whats causing the set-back, but I am telling myself to brace it and go back to basics.

its ok to have emotions and to let them flow. But the most important thing is to know that they will pass and we will pick up again.

Hope u r feeling better now. It's ok to cry. Sometimes I cry too when things r just too tough. But try not to compare. I know it is easier said than done. I see u r much a stronger mummy now compare to many months back. Jia you!

i dont understand?[/quote]Because the comparison is all the time, every day, not just when you meet other parents. And my younger daughter has completely outstripped my older one in all areas - social, physical etc.

Take some personal time out to re-energise and recharge i.e. talk to a close friend/family or go exercise to release endorphins. Nobody can be strong all the time wor. Perfectly ok to feel up and down, just don’t wallow too deep or too long else it will make you physically sick.

Parents are always proud of their kids no matter what, next time if you hear them talk about theirs, join in too! Mention a funny event or something that your kid did or say that made you proud.

Sincerely believe we are thrown obstacles in life to whatever capacity we are capable of. So if you think that you have tougher obstacles compared to others, that’s because you will be able to overcome them and they probably can’t. Have some faith in your abilities! 🙏

btw my son said this yesterday:

                      C1: I don’t like violence
                      Me: Wao, that's good!
Sceptical Dad: You know the meaning of the word?
                      C1: Yah, it’s an instrument
                      M&D:
