Thanks for the notification. I think only DSA for JC is happening, and not the DSA-SEC plan. The information on the MoE website is still not updated. -
You have to check the individual’s school websites for the DSA exercises. Most of the time, it will start between May - June. But NJC and NUS High School are already opened for application.
DSA comes in 2 phases for the top schools. Phase 1 meant for GEP, Maths Olympaid award winners and sports talents. Phase 2 for rest of the students. Different schools have their DSA at different time. So just need to look out for the dates so as not to miss them. -

Umm... isn't NJC National Junior College which is a JC? You mean they have direct intake for Primary School students? I have always thought they only take in Secondary students, or get bypassed for direct entry into the university by the super-bright Secondary school kids. You have to check the individual's school websites for the DSA exercises. Sorry... there are just so many of these schemes that it has all become so confusing. -
NJC has been providing 4-year IP (Integrated Programme) for students from Sec 3 to JC2 the past few years. 2009 will be the first year that they will start taking in Sec 1 students, providing a 6-year programme leading to A-levels. Students in the IP programme bypass 'O'-levels and go straight to do their A-levels. So students schools like Hwa Chong Instituition, RI, NYGH, RGS, RV, Dunman, NUS High, ACS(I) will not need to do 'O'-levels.
when you have a child in P6 like me, you have to know all these details

Sorry... forgot to welcome you to KiasuParents. -
Thanks ChiefKiasu.
Yes, have been through all those years. This is really a good sharing platform. I am sure many parents will benefit from this.

Hi,
Not sure how many parents here have P6 children. But the online system provided by MOE is an avenue for the students to register their preference online, after they are offered a confirmed place or on the school’s waiting list through the school’s DSA exercise.
To apply for DSA, you still need to apply directly with the secondary school.
The best is still call up the secondary school you are interested in to apply for DSA and ask for the procedure.
