Anyone is currently a PV of Pei Chun Public School or have been a PV there before? I need some info about being a PV there and the chances.


My house is betw 1-2km from the school and I am afraid that if balloting is required for that phrase then my chances are not too good.

My son is born in 2006 and I only register for P1 in 2012. Is it too early for me to start this yr or I shd wait til next yr? Any advice?

Yes it is too early where you should start maybe next year 2011. Generally most schools would close the registration on 30 June but best it is good to check with individual schools

some popular school closes earlier. NYPS almost a year earlier; TNS starts accepting in Jan and may close in Mar or earlier.

Thanks for the info everyone I think I will sign up as a PV next year. This yr I am still working and wont have time to volunteer anyway. Planning to go on leave next yr. I think I will have to find out how are the chances for phrase 2B. Hope I wont have to volunteer n in the end cant get a place. Does anyone know if peichun interviews and conducts selection for PV?

Don't worry, I met a parent who registered and completed his pv hours (clock like mad type) and his kid would be registering like 3 years later! :!:

I suggest you check with the school rightaway and submit your application. Just cos you are a registered PV doesn't mean you have to start the work rightaway, and I always feel it safer to start clocking. Dun wait until last min then worry about not being able to fulfil the hours.

hquek, you are right. I think I shall ask them now and see if I can register first. Feels safer also. I am actually still staying in hougang but I am movng to toa payoh in 2012 which is the year my son is going to register for P1. So I got to try to get a place at Pei Chun first.
