Mean score [Level]: E 72, C 71, M 68, S 75
Mean score [3A]: E 86, C 85, M 92, S 94

It was revealed in the Letter to Parents Aug2012 that the class allocation for P2 to P3 is based on Eng + Maths combined. Further banding based on Chinese (they'll move around during Chinese lessons).

DD is leaving Yangzheng soon. Great school with great values. We will miss these fabulous 3 years.

Yes. Still pretty hung up on the excitement. Posting results will only be known after 25 Nov, so don’t know yet. I hope she gets her choice.

Like to find out for kids taking higher Chinese , are they required to buy another higher Chinese text book . Looking at the book list , seems that only need to buy the normal Chinese text book.
Ya, u are right ,3A n 3B classes are the better classes. There are difference in the books used for English n math for 3A n 3B classes compared to the rest of the classes. Yangzheng has its own math supplementary booklets catered for 2 groups -3A n 3B and the rest of the classes. 3A n 3B classes are also using on sponge book .

By the way , are u also attending the prize giving ceremony today ?

They used the 高级华文textbook this year. Yes, the on sponge book gave tougher qns to work on. Will be going for JOY, to see her perform guzheng. Didn’t get top 3 this year, for once, after all, it’s a competitive class. And I think she lost out because of her silly 5 marks lost for Maths paper - things like 1000 + 1000 = 1000. Sweat. Otherwise her performance has still been good, and she was the only kid to get high distinction for ICAS Science paper from YZ. Very proud of her.

No, there were 4 selected. All from 3A. 2 boys, 2 girls. 1 girl rejected. So 3 of them leaving.

I see. My girl going 3A next year. I know it will be competitive and she may not be able to come witinin top 3 anymore . She actually told me she don't mind going 3B, so that she has a higher chance of being top 3 in class to attend the prize giving ceremony to receive the prize :roll:

Anyway , I told her it's doesn't matter. With no tuition or any enrichment class at all, she is able to do well without much guidance , I am quite happy.
Told her studying is not just about receiving the top prize . I want her to learn to be confident n learn to share .
