They didn't even bother updating their website! the last briefing slides were from 2011! It is so misleading! After the new principal came onboard, everything is in chaos. No direction given.

2011? That's the yr the old principal left and the new principal joined in 2012... The staff thot old head left so no longer need to update, or the new head did not follow up?

Noticed that the website is not very informative. Eg. Calendar is just plain calendar. It's calendar of events has not been updated for months.

Did u read the latest newsletter? No more IMAS. They are having a new ANDventure program. Guess new principal come and scrap old principal's projects.
The newsletter states the new program ANDventure is for P4 fm 2014 onwards, which means there's nothing for P3 next yr? And it's conducted during curriculum. I wonder what's the duration weekly. Already teachers are trying so hard to cover all syllabus for main subjects within school curriculum, now they want to squeeze in the new program? Does this imply they will need to try harder now to rush through lessons within the 10 weeks each term? Or students are expected to bring home more homeworks as they will now have shorter learning time but more \"adventure\" time at school. Current IMAS students spend two hrs after sch hr per wk. if it's the same for the new program, I think it will really eat into their already tight timetable...

I asked my kid do they see their principal and they say hardly…

So even the kid cant see her do u think parents feedback can get to her???

I always very puzzled with their homework. After finishing their homework, its always in their bags for weeks or some even the whole term!!!
Does the teacher bother to collect back their homework at all and correct them?

        Anyone having the same problem?

Regarding homework, mine is collected. Only one or two wasn't collected but I attribute that to my son's scatterbrain. Which level is your kid in?

I as a parent has never seen the principal once this entire year when sending my kid to school. It may be just coincidence that she's not outside the general office area when I'm there. Maybe other parents can verify this based on their own experience, whether this principal is like the ex-principal who had always made an effort to be outside the general office to welcome students coming to school. I as a parent had always felt a sense of comfort and security with his friendly approach whenever I sent my elder kid to sch last time. But this feeling no longer exist now.

Am sure it’s just an unfortunate coincidence, have seen the p going around talking to students myself. 😃 am quite sure the Anderson spirit n culture is still there. 😃

Don't think she practices that. Also never seen her welcoming the kids. The only time I saw her was when I made a complaint and when I saw her rushing to and back from meetings.

Hi been a silent reader thus far but feeling anxious now. My DS entering Pl next year and I did PV to get him in the school. The whole PV experience was bad. No transparency or coordination whatsoever. So I know the admin really can’t be efficient. I hope I made the right choice. But I guess APS is still the most vibrant of schools for boys in AMK. They do have more variety in CCAs and school events. Am I right? Do your kids take part or enjoy the CCAs offered? I’m hoping to let DS try brass band next year. Thought gymnastic is cool but he refused to wear leotard. Lol

Anyway attending the briefing later. Hope to meet more mummies!

Regarding the P. I saw her when I attended the Family Day. She was in the room, quite alone and yes I didn’t see her mingling with students nor staff. Sigh. I should have exited then huh? 😛

                      Just for laughs…

Mystery of the Missing Prize-Giving Ceremony Photos

I just returned from the prize-giving ceremony… My kid was performing… Many anxious parents were trying to get as near as possible to the stage to snap pics of their kids receiving prizes… Mcee reminded parents there are professional photographers engaged to take pics of prize winners and performers… But get this… over the years, no offer has ever been made by the sch for parents to order any of such pics!!! Where did all the pics go? LOL…
