Music Elective (MEP) A-levels or ABRSM Diploma?
-
Sorry this is late.
The ABRSM Diploma is more general. Its just a gauge of your playing standard, generally. On the other hand the MEP Programme at A level will cover more ground, more theoretical stuffs, the elements of which will better prepare you for a music BMus programme.
If you are looking to pursue your BMus, definitely do the A LEvel MEP. Of course, the DipABRSM is a bonus. And I heard that one particular college in the united kingdom will allow you to skip yr 1 of its 4 year BMus(Hons) programme if you have the DipABRSM.
I cannot remember which one, but PM me if you want to know, and i’ll find out for you.
Hope this helps, roughly? -
Why can’t you do both?

Doesn’t the MEP require you to attain a minimum ABRSM qualification too?
