My advice to all parents is to buy a Practice makes Perfect - EL Grammar and sit through the assessment book with your child at year end.

Sorry to hi-jack this thread πŸ˜‰

Mummy Jennifer, you referring to the following book?
      http://i43.tinypic.com/2rrrvr6.jpg\">

This cover page does not look familiar. Dun think I use this. But I think as long as parents make it a point to go through with the child, rather than trust the child knows it all, any Grammar assessment book will suffice.

Top score is not revealed in the sch hall. Many parents were snapping photos at the slides. 260 & above - the slide did not seem to contain > 20 names. 250 to 259 - there were 2 slides. 240 to 249 - there were 2 slides.

        99.4% passed, 2 failed.

My boy is in 2nd class, he said the top score in his class is 262.

My boy attained the same grades as my elder boy, but the t-score is 15 points lesser.

          17 got 260 or above.

Not sure what is the highest in school, but know at least someone got 269.
          Mean is 230.29.
I guess with the easier papers this year, the T-score is pulled down in general to fit the curve.

There were 32 who got 260 or more in 2012, so quite a drastic drop of about 50% this year!?

Initially it was a little disappointing only 17 got >= 260 this year. Then I go read some other threads and it seems for this year, 258 qualifies for EEISS. So it's not as bad as it seemed.

Anyway, a mean score in excess of 230 has got to be excellent! That's a GEP school kinda score.

Did P say whether the latest mean score broke PH's record? It has to, rite? It used to hover around 226+ for the longest time. :celebrate:

Edit: I think the P4 batch this year stands a good chance to hit excess of 230 too, when their turn comes.

I think last year mean was 227. So at least there is improvement. not sure if it is the record.
This year there is a record of 50 successful DSA, excluding those who rejected the offers.

BTW, there was also an announcement by P today that the younger VP is moving on to ACS (P) next year, to the GEP.

That's rather surprising, I always assumed there'll be continuity in the sch's leadership when the right time comes (get what I mean)?

I heard during Thanksgiving Day, the temp holding sch is no longer at the vacanted sch beside The Beverly.

Residents at Toh Tuck will be so happy to learn about this.
