If you’re interested in volunteering, you should check out SGCares too. I signed up but hv yet to drag myself off to attend the compulsory orientation course at their office in Central haha. You need to go for orientation before signing up for activities online.

        Helloooo fellow SAHMs!

I've been a SAHM for 5 months now. Loving it though must admit that I do miss working life. The social aspect, the $$$$, business trips, perks but not so much the work

Thinking of doing part time work, but not sure what's suitable, since baby#2 due in about 5 mths, DS just entered P1 this year and need to look after aging & hard-of hearing in-laws. Cant leave all these to maids.

Am quite worried on how employable I'll be 3-5 years from now.. so I'm learning a couple of things .. Hopefully these can help to make some pocket money and passive income, and hopefully dont need to beg someone to hire me next time.... .

I am currently servicing my resignation notice. My last day is on 19th Feb. After much pondering and debating DH and me decided that I should quit and be a full time mom to my two boys age 11 and 13. I now look forward to my new role but at the same time wondering how should I make full use of this role. DH is too busy as his business picked up. Much of the time it was he who ferried the boys to school, tuiton etc etc. Now its my duty to take over. My sons do have tuitons but at the same time I want to teach them at home too.. to cut a long story short.. my questions are how to start/organising/scheduling time tables/how much to teach . I am at lost as Ive been working practically throughout my life and I dont know how to fit it..Stay home moms out thre..pls help.. thx :?

                Hi StayPositive,

Like your username :). Out of curiosity, wat courses are you taking at the moment? I ve teaching qualifications and experience, so i guess i cud always go back to that. But truth be told, I dont really like teaching. Hv been doing PR before I quit, but not realistic to return to PR. Part time work (the kind that pays more than $6 an hr) hard to come by.

In any case, like you said, dont hv much of a choice. 2 kids. DS going to P1 nex year. Cant leave to maid rt.

                  Hi SAHMummies,

Glad to see this site just for US 😎
I’ve been a SAHM for 11 years…it’s crazy and to a certain degree there is NO time for myself except for 3 hours every morning weekdays when both are in school. Hubby tries to work from home as much as possible to help ferry kids to/fro.

                  Hashroop,
If you have been working all these years, it can be a trying time to fit in at home and organize your schedule around the boys. My son presently is in P4 and he has CL tuition. Other than that, I coach him in his daily work. Take it easy in the beginning.

Your youngest one entering P1 next yr right? You will have a little bit more free time when both are at school in the morning. But you will be busier in the afternoon because you will need to handle 2 kids. That's the situation for me now. I try to do all the meal preparations in the morning so that cooking dinner will take less time.

Hi, nice to find you here. I find it quite difficult to get part time work in Spore. Luckily, my ex-employer will get me to do ad hoc assignments whenever they need an extra pair of hands.

                        Hi Jess,

Pleasant surprise to see your response. Hv been wondering how u ve been. 🙂

Anyone play stocks and shares btw? Possibly good way to generate passive income if you buy only quality stocks and prepared to hold out long term.
