Yes....officially, there is no ranking in yr 3...
Hello! I'm a Y3 student in Dunman High and I happened to come across this page.oldmummy:
Hi
Does anybody know if there's any particular ranking of classes in year 3? Thanks
there actually isn't any sort of official ranking in the Y3 classes but general rule of thumb is that upper level classes= better, although there are exceptions.
However, there is subject enrichment in Y3 and the syllabus is only very slightly different and is not tested in EOY, more for general knowledge, and sometimes the teachers would 'sneak in' some of enrich syllabus for the non-enrich classes. (I'm a triple science+ geog student with no enrich).
I have also seen some discussion as to how students are selected for the various subject enrichment. There are a few methods from the school that are circulating but the most popular method is that it is based on what subject enrich the SBGE people in Y2 choose, and they will try to allocate according to what the SBGE people opt for, and then sort in the non-SBGE students. So for eg for my year there was no demand for science+hist enrich so there was no class at all for sci+history enrich.
Hope this clarifies!
But if u' re a student there, u' ll know which are the better classes....that's why i said \" some sort of ranking\"...

Hi, Met some parents who are deciding the sec 1 school for next year. A few shared that their children who are in dhs felt that the standard at higher level ie JC1n JC 2 equivalent has dropped or not comparable to perhaps what they are expecting of DHS (e.g lack of good teachers) though a few felt that the std at lower level is ok.
Do parents with children in higher levels have any feedbk? Thks. -
Hi
My DS got into DHS next year via DSA. Can anyone advise on the school hours? I donβt seem to be able to find the information on the school website.
Thks -
Congrats! My dd will be going to DHS too next year.
If I remember correctly, school starts at 8am everyday except for Thursdays when it starts at 9am. The school ends at around 2.30pm to 3.30pm. Hope this info helps and please correct me if I am wrong. -
Want to know more about choosing third language.
1. Are there many DHS students taking the third language? What is your advice about managing third language and school work?
2. In the S1 posting form, I noticed that we can only indicate one choice from each category. Does it mean if my DDβs choice from that category (e.g., Japanese from third category) is not successful, she will be allocated her choice from another two categories that we indicated in the form?
3. Is there a school bus service from DHS to the language centre?
Thanks so much. -
Can anyone advise is DHS easily accessible by public transport? Based on the map, there is only 1 bus service that stops infront of the school? Else one needs to walk for 15-20min from the mrt or other bus stops?
