The kids will be given a story to recite (but don't know is it applicable to p1)..as for spelling it will be once a week.

Actually the oral component is getting really big. 25% of total score and if I donโ€™t remember wrongly the same weightage as composition in upper primary.

Itโ€™s important for our kids to speak the language well. Not sure if there will be increased weightage when they revamp the chinese language learning more in view of MMโ€™s comments.

i think that's what they are doing now..increase the oral component....so the English speaking kids will be ๐Ÿ˜ข for chinese oral or storytelling....

                  Hi,

You mean there is a selection process for band? Is it to determine the kid talent in what instrument? Is the selection over?

                  Thanks for sharing.

No, there is no selection for lower primary. But it's just that if it is popular choice then might need to \"ballot\" ??? My boy signed up for 2 CCAs (wushu and band) in P1 but they didn't give band CCA to him... Heard from my girl that the response rate is high and my boy still hasn't got the response slip so I am wondering....... :? :xedfingers: ๐Ÿ™

But for those who join in upper primary, I heard they need to go for audition. I think this is because given that the kids who joined in lower primary were given music training (notes reading and instrument playing), if a child without music background will to join later on, it might be quite tough for the instructor to manage the child with the existing kids unless he/ she has that background.

Oh I see. That means likely due to over-demand then there will be selection involved.

My son received an option for CCA last week. He is keen in robotics only. Apparently there is a selection involved too. Hope he will not get too disappointed if he does not get selected.

My impression is that they are supposed to get the form by yesterday.

He told me that only his wushu classmate got it.
