tankee,

bo lah, i wanna buy a place - need to move.

victor's kitchen
i went there today. can call in advance to book a table. i called 10 mins in advance only. they are now open everyday, 10.30am to 8pm

tried a few of their dim sum, my kids love his char siew buns - i think they are very nice. the ha gao is very good too, skin is thin and the prawn is sweet - but must eat while warm. we are also very impressed with the fried water chestnut cake and their yam cake. chunks of yam in the yam cake too. we like the chee cheong fun and their lotus rice. the latter soft, and not sticky sticky. good! we had a few kinds of tea. they are all good. But hb is not too impressed with the chicken feet but he said he will still come and eat if around. standard wise, some dishes better than crystal jade, some crystal jade is better. but the range with crystal jade is bigger.
Were you there for lunch or dinner? We were there at about 10:40am...might have seen you?

The place is actually a small eatery, which doesn't provide high chair to the younger ones. So be prepared for it. Luckily, DS was on his best behaviour yesterday. *phew*

Overall, we find the food to be quite tasty...very much like what you would get in HK. But we find the dimsum not very 精致 (delicate? refined?). Still, we would probably go back again.

BTW, no gst, no service charge.

Not sure if anyone mentioned Imperial Treasure. The one at Great World City has got to be one of my favorates. Not cheap but good quality and variety. Usually fully-booked during weekends though.

I love the xiao long bao at Imperial treasure. The roast platter is good too. They have quite a number of outlets - Ngee Ann City, Suntec basement and Marina Square (i think) 😄

BigDevil,

i was there for lunch, there around 1pm. i think you were right about the 精致, but otherwise, the dim sum is quite good.

minnie2004,
yah, how can i forgot about imperial treasure! yes, that’s a very nice restaurant and dim sum place. i’ve tried several outlets and the one at the Great World City got to be their flagship store. thanks for the reminder!

Crystal Jade at Parkway is where I get my dim sum fixes these days.

eh... i'm a bit el cheapo. Instead of Crystal Jade, I go to the dim sum stall at the hawker centre next to Parkway Parade 😎 The food's rather good too!! Always got l-o-n-g queue

hmmmm .. really? next time i go there for meals i'll try their dim sum. thanks for the tip

:celebrate:

The \"must try\" at Victor's:
• Scallop sausage carrot cake with XO sauce
Oyster sauce char siew bun
Steam chicken with chinese wine
HK Milk tea
Yin Yang
•
The other items on the menu are pretty good as well so it's worth trying everything.

As mentioned by others, it's a very small eatery and it may be difficult to bring your pram along because the place is a little crammed.

Thanks for the recommendation. Will try it out one day.

We have been going to Tung Lok at Jurong for dim sum. It's buffet style...$19.80 for adult. Worth it for big eaters. I find the dim sum at Tung Lok nicer than Crystal Jade...love the steamed chicken feet, pork rib, egg tarts. I'm drooling now 😄
