Queenstown Primary

Thanks so much for the info ... we'll probably start with zero allowance in the first couple of weeks! My son still can't handle money well. 2 more days to D-day ....

Dear parents
I wanted to say a big Thank You to all the parents and advisors on this site. You guys and gals have been a great encouragement during the past months of P1 preparation, building up all the way to this First Day of school
Today, all was smooth and well organised (except for the heavy rain which we couldn't \"control\" - even then it caused no major hiccups
)
The new principal, Mrs Chua, was very professional - constantly interacting with parents, at the foyer, library, even the canteen. As the invited speaker mentioned this morning, the principal's statement that the parents' and teachers' heart beating in \"the same beat\" is very assuring.
All the best to all P1 Queenstown students and their parents

Hi parents of QtPS students,
How do you find your child/children's teachers this year? Hope your kids are in good hands. I always feel that it is more far important to have good teachers (but luck plays a part here), than to be in a reputable school.
My P5 daughter is very blessed to have good teachers this year
. Her form & Maths & Science teacher is Mr A Ng, English teacher is Ms G Lim and Chinese teacher is Ms Chai - all are dedicated & caring teachers whom I am familiar with, and they are very good in teaching the respective subjects.
Cheers. -
hi mjl
this is almost the end of week 4 and my kid is still blur blur
so far he told me, ms hafisah takes almost every subject except for chinese (ms wu - as in butterfly  ), PE - ms pek.
he doesnt even know why he needs to join another class for chinese and nt stay in his own :?:
i almost fainted...
so i can't wait for MTP day... -
Hi Bakugan,
For Chinese, students join different classes based on their Chinese competency level. I think this is the only subject that streams students into different classes from P1 onwards. For upper primary, students will also be streamed for Maths (besides the normal streaming into top 2 classes from P3 onwards - there may be a change if no exams for P1 & P2 is implemented).
You donβt have to wait for meet-the-parent session to talk to your sonβs teacher. Just give her a call (school number or hp if you have it) to find out how your son is doing in school.
Regards. -
Hi Bakugan!
Other than your kid still \"blur blur\", how is he in the school? Does he like the school?
Sounds like Queenstown Primary is a great school. I passed by the school the other day, and my son commented that he had friends (from childcare centre) in that school, too. -

Hi Superlady!
I am sure KSP parents will be more than happy to share with you, and look forward to receiving more information from you, too, since your child is already in P5.
Would you like to report at the Newbie thread? It's a SOP here.

Thanks mjl
Honestly it didnt occur to me that I could just call the teacher.
Back in my days, only teacher contact my parents and my parents contacting teachers was something unheard of (country pumpkin hor?! haha)

Hi qms
I think my son loves the school so far by the way he talks about QtPS :
1. He is constantly singing his school song & reciting school values,
2. He sounded so \"proud\" of his school soccer team when they won the match over another team the other day, and
3. He got so excited when he saw a picture of his school students on the Total Defence poster
Me, I love the school's passion in promoting reading  -
