once we made appointment to see the teachers in the case of our child being bullied by the classmate over a long period of time, after a number of email complaints

the teachers actually threatened that if the transfer is done, the child will be ostracized by the peers (and, unspokenly, by the teachers too!)…we were very insistent that action be taken

of course we did not let out that we are applying to another school and on the day we got the acceptance from another school, we literally shook the dust off my shoes at that school when we went to get the transfer form endorsed

what pissed us off was that the principal pretended nothing has happened

after the transfer, my child was so happy every day going to school and topped the school which actually had higher psle cut off point than the previous school

I may sound unrealistic here but if my kid's class teacher behave in such an abusive manner, will teach kid to record some evidence, sound or pix

        sounds good!

the principle called me saying that he investigate e teacher. The teacher deny she slap my gal's shoulder and scratched her head!

she even deny that she scold the students devil n idiot, she only admit that she scolded them rubbish!

i told e principle that e investigation was nt done professionally and e teacher will defitnite defence herself.

principle wil investigate at the nxt level to investigate the students.

Genatoh, once you get evidence, ask the Principal where he/she wants to ‘view’ it first. MOE, newspapers or Stomp?

Most school principals like to stay out of ‘trouble’

            Hi..

need a feedback on primary 1 form teacher
is it a normal if a teacher said to a child when they naughty or cannot do the homework

1.Maybe you need a slap...so you can listen
2.Shout at the kid and bang the ruler in the table until the ruler broken

            😢

To me, this is totally unacceptable. Besides hearing from one child, is there any other witness(es) to these? I will bring up straight to the principal if the above actions are proven true.

                it's \"normal\" but unacceptable.

many teachers r highly stretched by admin n organisational duties....many of them r at the breaking point already. Not surprised if a few of them start to go crazy.

Not making excuses, but just saying how it came to be this way 😞

Well my DD chinese teacher also does the same, she even kicks the child (not hard) on the leg when they are sitting on the floor, further more she always shouts at the kids and throw their toys away (Pri 1). Was really annoyed when I heard it from my DD. Though my DD was not shouted or kicked by her (No toys). I beleive this is not the way to handle the kids, what kind of message are they sending to the kds, thus I send a e/mail to the form teacher and CC a copy to the V.P. Hopefully she change her attitude.
Hope you check with the teacher also, and see what she has to say about it.

Hmm…don’t principal walk around and do spot checks? Sounds quite bad and abusive some of these highly-strung teachers. If they need a break, they should be given one and the P should check periodically. I also say cannot blame the teachers if they are even clueless they are heading towards depression. sigh

No, not too kan cheong...although I'd personally have wished that it wasn't in such a manner that you'd have this \"talk\" with the principal.

Ehm, this is not being just \"very strict\"! It borders on abuse - what happens if the ruler flies after breaking and hits one of the kids? 😛 Anger and stress level aside, I think teachers, like parents, need to be aware of their actions.
