What Music instrument will you let your child join and why

i choose guitar
because i just prefer the sounds of the guitar..
hope one day my kids will pick up guitar..and play like this :oops: [dreaming]

I was advised by a friend who come from a musically inclined family (every child in his family knows how to play at least 3 instruments) that piano is the most basic instrument to learn. He learnt his instruments in this sequence piano-violin-flute.
Personally l would learn electric guitar because it’s noiser.

it's never too late to learn.
my younger bro (then early twenties) taught himself the guitar, electric guitar and electronic organ...in this order.
His skills may not be superb, but good enough to impress girls.

Maybe in my next life I would want to be born with some giftedness in music and longer fingers so that I could join a rock band. As of now, I would just satisfy myself playing guitar hero with my children.

perhaps maybe alot of practice to train your fingers to be more flexible becuz electric guitar do alot of sweeping and scale running -
Personally, I would prefer my kids to learn Piano. I have always been captivated by how the fingers can sweep across the piano keys and produce beautiful music.

Piano, also because it forms the basic foundation for musicianship. Foundation is very important. With a good foundation, progress in learning other instruments is usually better.

I love the sounds of both instruments, piano and violin and learning helps to develop the brain. I think small children playing violin is so cute and it is portable! Imagine a toddler wearing tux and playing a violin.
If hv to choose one to learn first, piano. Reason being it is basic foundation and in case my son don’t do well in studies, he can consider teaching piano lessons. (which is more in demand) -
Violin - same reasons like portability, less noisy (than piano), less expensive for initial startup compared to piano (until you are sure she is really interested in learning the instrument), takes less physical space, and also it sounds really nice if played well :lol:
But the most important reason: my gal chose to want to learn violin herself. I learnt piano myself and thought maybe I can start her off with piano but she is resolute to learn violin. The nice thing is, though, I can play the piano accompaniment when she plays her violin pieces
