Hi,
My son will be taking public transport to school - MRT to Botanics then take a bus. May I know which is the correct bus stop to drop at and if the walkway from the bus stop to school is sheltered?
Thanks! -

Your son should alight at the last Hwa Chong bus stop (Gate 3) just before Namly Avenue. The entire school is sheltered and interlinked, starting from the bus stop, so don't worry.Hi,

Hi:?: Hi, does anyone know what is the passing MSG for Sec 4 HCI to HCJC?
what if the child doesn't meet the mark, what are the options available, repeat or ?
My son says as long as your MSG is 3.0 and below you can make it. If the child doesn't meet the mark,
1) repeat Sec 4 but you go to Q class
2) Go to J1 in another JC (difficult unless you took 'O's on your own)
3) Go to poly -

Actually the regulations on shoes are not confined to just black or white shoes. Sports shoes are allowed, and I recommend them. Shoes must be majority (at least 70% to be safe) white, dark blue or black with no flashy colours/stripes. The teachers will do a surprise spot check on attire (buttons, collar pin, haircut, shoes) after flag raising on random days. Warnings/demerit points will be given if the proper attire standards are not met.
Hi Song22,Song22:
Hello parents
Can I know what type of shoes are allowed in normal school days? Track shoes or must be those bata type of shoes? How about black shoes?
Thank you!
HCI pretty flexible w shoes, no need Bata. White with not too colorful stripes or black shoes OK. In fact the school with its excellent consortium sys self manages so well they don't even have prefectorial system.
Also, handphones are allowed in HCI; they must be silent or switched off during lesson time. No gaming too.
There will be a Secondary One Orientation handbook given out to the new Sec Ones during the Sec One Orientation. It contains quite a lot of information. -
Useful information as we are going shopping tomorrow! Ds has outgrown his school shoes.
Where’s a good place to shop for sports shoes for kids/teenagers? What about school bags - what do teenage boys carry usually?
Thanks! -
Just to clarify on handphone use. Can the students use handphone or iPad to take notes or jote down teachers’ instructions in class? Thanks.
