Hi, my dd joined her first choice IP school, Cedar today. An agonising decision for us as she oso qualified for the other two coveted girls’ schools.

And yes, I agree with good pa, the students were really warm and frenly. DD met several snrs and frens from her pri sch, so they were all happily chattg away after the principal’s talk.

My dd is tryg to decide if she shld buy the sch skirt that fits nicely or a slightly roomier fit. Also, I noticed many of the Cedarians wear their sch shirt slightly larger, so shld I get a larger one for dd? Any adv?

For school shoes, can I get sports shoes instead of the Bata white ones?
How many sets of uniforms and PE shld she get? The advice from sch is 3 and 2 resp, shld I get more?

Should get a slightly bigger one. You can alter the skirt.
Sports shoes are fine. 70% white. The rest either blue grey yellow. School colours.
The advice for school uniform n pe is good.

I am wondering why there is nothing mentioned abt laptop this yr. No need for laptop now? 2 yrs ago during e briefing for my eldest dd, I rem there was a booth for Acer laptop.

Today i asked a senior how many setz of pe attire nec. She mentioned shorts u need more cos u need to wear shorts underneath the skirt everyday. Is this true? Even on days that there is no pe, do the girls need to wear pe shorts underneath? Cos I realised the shorts is quite thick n bulky, so it is quite uncomfortable to wear it underneath the skirt. So my qn is, is it sch rule that must wear shorts underneath the skirt or is it personal pref? Experienced mum pl advise. Thks.

If there is pe or jogging, u hv to wear the school shorts. Otherwise other shorts are fine. The girls love fbt shorts. Cooling. At this age, most prefer to wear shorts cos they can behave quite at home in school. :rotflmao:

My dd shorts is quite cooling material. Not sure about the new shorts.

We also took the roomier fit for dd today as she is still growing.

Yes, the friendly and warm student advise us that sport shoe is fine and also about the colour. The prefect wear black shoes.

These student volunteer share a lot of things with us.They are amazing and has set a good example for their junior. I am impressed.
