School Uniform
-
buds:
OIC, never thought of this reason as I do not have daughters... but the girls's uniform in his school is the one-piece type with collar and sleeve, so it can be quite hot unless they change out of their PE attire. For DDs' school, from P2 onwards they hafta wear their
pinafores over their PE attire which i do like cos the girls
these days mature quite fast and their body changes are
quite significant. Hence the teachers insist that by 2nd
year in pri school they should cover up those thighs after PE.
Both my girls are tomboys and they tend to sit anyhow.
Not all the time crossed legged...
So, in may case this works fine with me.
And, just thinking aloud, isn't it worse to anyhow sit wearing pinafores than wearing PE shorts? -
The PE shorts are the airy kind.
So, pinafore over the shorts... not too bad.
Can at least cover until the knee..

Just 4 weeks, and my DS's Bata school shoe is already wearing out;
probably from friction when he sits on the floor. -

I prefer Power shoes, much lighter and more durable. -
Power shoe? :?
er ... is it also from Bata? -

No leh. I bought the lighter Power shoes for ds before and it lasted just 6 months before the sole was completely worn out. Ds tends to drag his feet and he played soccer with those shoes during recess. Didn't last long before the shoes were koyak. I find the chunky, heavier Bata school shoes more durable. Was able to last more than a year.tankee:

Hi JessChan,

I remember wearing shorts under my pinafore in an all girls's school because there wasn't any worry of others seeing undies...some of the girls do sit rather unsightly because of that shorts.
The school discipline mistress always scolded us during assembly that we should sit cross-legged even if we are wearing shorts, and not 'open coffee shop' (still remember those words). -

Ha ha, sounds familiar... I often asked my son whether he kicked soccer ball or rock? I think even if I give him metal shoes, he will still destroy it....

I buy my son's school shoes from World of Sports. The soles are lousy
. I remember during our time, it was only Bata. School has relaxed rules now and there are many brands allowed.
Will check out Bata then.
