Yes, it is tough having to plan amidst work commitments... Will need to start planning quickly if you've not done so yet. It can be quite crowded i think to plan last-minute. Plane tickets or hotels might be full...Thks a lot. Well , I was quite surprised when my mum told me over the phone that my girl came in first in class last year .Was happy n excited to look forward to the prize presentation ceremony then . This year , kind of knowing that she will likely to come in first again. So , not as excited as before. But did promise her to bring her for tour if she continue to do well . She complained that her classmates have been going for holidays whereas she hardly go anywhere for holiday .
I felt guilty about it . Due to my work commitment and laziness, I hardly plan for any holiday . So trying to plan for one in Dec this year .
We're going away for a trip next week. We try to bring the kids out once a year, but am worried that they will take this as a given -- also I do not want them to go around comparing with classmates or boasting about it. -
Hi Parents,
We are thinking of choosing YangZheng for my son’s school. But we don’t know very much about YangZheng. seems its ranking in Kiasuparent is not bad, would like to know comments from parents.
any feedback are welcomed. -

Hi YZPS,
Can you confirm whether P3 students for 2014 who have been told they will be taking Higher Chinese, will need to buy the Higher Chinese textbooks, or the normal Chinese textbooks?
My son has been told he’s taking Higher Chinese, but the booklist just stated the normal Chinese books. We do not want to buy the wrong textbooks so would appreciate a confirmation from the school on this.
Thanks. -
My kids, who will start school in P3 and P5, are quite tall for their age. They have outgrown the uniforms and we have just taken out the name tags and sewn on to the new ones.
The uniforms from last year are not torn or broken, but are certainly not brand new. If anyone is keen to have them (free), can PM me - else we’ll probably donate them away like any old clothes, together with the old newspapers. -
I’ve a green house T-shirt to let go cheaply. Please PM if keen. Thanks.

Hi Everyone,
My DS just transferred to Yangzheng and is now in 3B as we had shifted house last year. Happy to meet with the parents here.
Hope to exchange views and contribute to the sharing here.
My DS is my 3rd child, quite blur but managed to get around school today. He’s quite shy so I’m hoping he’ll be able to make some new friends here. In his previous school, he barely made 2 friends over a period of 2 years. I often asked him for his friends’ names but he could hardly remember and often went for recess himself.
Happy new year, everyone! -

So are you living near the school now? I guess i'm opposite. Had moved slightly further away 2 yr ago but kids are still studying there... -
Thanks atrecord,
I see from your previous postings that your DS is also in 3B.
We used to live in the south-central area and it was quite nerve-wrecking to transfer school as we weren’t sure if we will get a school nearer home now and travelling back to our old place via CTE every morning would be horrendous . I didn’t use the MOE transfer system but applied to 8 different schools in the Serangoon, Bishan, Ang Mo Kio area. Yangzheng was the only one who gave us a firm offer so we jumped at the chance. -

Yes, DS is also in 3B. Been cranky going back to school after a long break... How's your DS coping with school reopening, and a new environment too? Does he get along well with new classmates so far? Thanks atrecord,

Yes, if you need to take CTE every morning it's a nightmare, now that the charges are so high.
