I buy my son's school shoes from World of Sports. The soles are lousy . I remember during our time, it was only Bata. School has relaxed rules now and there are many brands allowed.

Nice to find you here. Is your son wearing white or black shoes? Mine is wearing black shoes - no need to wash often but often stains the white socks.

I get those socks which have the blue or black base for him, so that he doesn't dirty the floor when he removes his shoes after school.

Anyone knows where I can get leather white school shoes???


My son has smelly feet from wearing the normal school shoes probably some fungi infection. Besides changing socks on a daily basis, we are thinking of getting him a pair of leather school shoes so that it helps to eliminate the problem.

Just 4 weeks, and my DS's Bata school shoe is already wearing out; probably from friction when he sits on the floor.

I prefer Power shoes, much lighter and more durable.

My DD1 uses POWER shoes for PE days.
Extra light for her running days and light
for most PE activities. :celebrate:

No leh. I bought the lighter Power shoes for ds before and it lasted just 6 months before the sole was completely worn out. Ds tends to drag his feet and he played soccer with those shoes during recess. Didn't last long before the shoes were koyak. I find the chunky, heavier Bata school shoes more durable. Was able to last more than a year.

Usage and wear and tear issues i find is subjective to individual child.
My DD1's POWER shoes bought last year can still be used this year...
She is also the neat kind and very sayang all the things we get her.
So i suppose that helps too. :love:

Pardon my saying, but won't a pair of leather shoes be too heavy/stiff for everyday use/lessons/PE, even if there is such a thing as white leather school shoes in the first place?

I remember wearing shorts under my pinafore in an all girls's school because there wasn't any worry of others seeing undies...some of the girls do sit rather unsightly because of that shorts.
The school discipline mistress always scolded us during assembly that we should sit cross-legged even if we are wearing shorts, and not 'open coffee shop' (still remember those words).

For me janet_lee88, i'm the tomboy myself and those coffee shop words
have been said to me like all the time by the boys. \"Dis girl coffeeshop
always open wan...\" :roll: So, i now bring down that prophecy to my
girls. Haha! :lol:
