I am comfortable with timing but I am only upset when she told mi that she will be back at 5pm then return at 9 plus. Then again 7pm and return at 10pm. And the last one is suppose 7pm and she return and 10.30pm. This is getting later and later.

Oh this is not right. My maid goes off once a month. Leaves about 11am and will be back by 6pm.

thats a very irresponsible maid and u are too lenient. doesnt she hv to cook or clean house, her off day hours are 8 hrs as recommended by MOM, I guess that includes travelling time. yr maid taking great advantage, think u better be firm and set a time and she has to abide by that.
How much incremental do you give to your maid after each 2-yr contract?

I wanna know too!

I think it depends on several factors:
- how they have performed
- whether they try to negotiate
- how their salary is compared to the market rate

We gave our maid an increase from $400 - $450 in November last year as well as going from 1 day off to 4 days off. She was happy with that but I suspect she is going to ask for more soon as it is below market rate for her level of experience.
Would like to know how much you are giving her now?
I know that my Filipino maid currently is below market rate, I intend to raise her to $500 but she insist on $600. I am ok with her performance. Friends around me all giving $500 only hence not sure should I keep her. What is the avg rate for new Filipino maid? Appreciate advise from anyone. TIA

$600 is very high. When I was looking for a maid, there was one with 6 yrs experience and she was asking for $600. My dh said it's too high and then she started approaching my other neighbours whose maid's contract is ending and they also rejected asking salary of $600.

In the end she's still with the same employer with a less than $600 salary.
