Today in FB saw many friends posted about their kids going to school,new kindy etc....haizzz cant help feeling sad.... :lightrod: .....one day it will definitely be my boy turn's but dunno when.....my 2 eldest son in sec 2 n 3 so no more posting their pics in FB haha

Helplessmum...I feel that your boy better than mine wor..mine at 3yr 6mths cant even say a one word wordings....except papa n mama....continue with therapy....either in special school or private....might do your boy better :)...jia you!dont give up! -

Hello helplessmummy son totally no therapies now.. given up on them. kkh therapies OT less then 3 x, speech therapy only 2 times.... totally stop & wait for rainbow , after 6month with Rainbow , SUCKS big time.. oso withdraw him.... so tiring to go rainbow and barely few hours.. not time effecient!!! also not cost effective.
conclusion for my case.. can say my son dont have proper therapist at all...
he jus turn 4 yrs old recently.... he only can answer questions :- What is X doing, What he making . only on Whats
How, why & etc not yet. he cant tell me what happen in school & etc...

How, why and when are the more difficult concepts in the W/H range. Now that your child has mastered what, try who and where. When you do things or go out together, talk to him about who and where. When you read story books with him, talk about who and where. Use visual boards to retell the stories. Do this day in and day out. Take it as your focus for the next 3 months, and then review. If it is still not there do it for another 3 months. When it becomes good enough then try the more difficult concepts.
I recall I took more than 6 months to coach my doter on why. Her logic is sometimes still off, but she is showing improvements. She started her school yesterday and she too could not tell me much about her first day in school. Worse, she spilled her water bottle in her bag and everything got wet.
Not everything is a bed of roses. I'm sure you have not given up, now that you are back at this forum. -

Why do say Rainbow sucks big time? It is one of the most established Eipic centres in Spore, so I think is better for you to clarify when u make such a strong statement. And if Rainbow is too far for you, why not try other Eipic centres that are nearer your house? If you are upset about your boy’s progress, then you should not stop therapy unless you have the time and can create your own materials to help him yourself. -
Just want to share the recent observations about my boy’s social communication with his peers. At the last playdate with my friend’s kids, my boy was actually ‘fighting and quarreling’ with another kid. Last time, when someone took his toy, he would just try to snatch it back or cry if he could not win over the other kid, but at the last playdate, when the other kid took the thomas train from the track, my boy actually told him to put it back and told him he can’t take the train. Although he couldn’t reason well with the boy but at least he is now willing to open his golden mouth and try to tell his peers what he would like them to do. I think I have to thank my younger gal for this, because she always disturb him and he is now able to tell her off.
Hopefully, one day, his conversation with his peers is not just about quarreling and fighting for toys but proper conversation.
As he turns 5 this year, I feel that time is running out. He has 2 years left to develop proper social comms skills (with peers), I just hope he is in time for it before he goes P1. -

I use story boards for many purposes - retell stories, describe things, retell past activities, social stories, emotions etc.
