My son is involved on the above, he commented " the queue at canteen is super long". The 2 boys that he "take care" brought their own food, thus no need to queue. However, they may have miss the opportunity on learning how to buy food.

          Dear Parents / Guardians,

The timetable will be issued to pupils today. Parents are requested to refer to the timetable to helping their children to pack their bags. Please avoid your children from bringing unnecessary item to school as this will make their bags heavier.

Pupils are expected to bring a story book (EL or MT) everyday to read during their free time or reading period. πŸ˜„

            Hi,

Will the bookshop be opened on Monday?
If yes, any specific timings to come?

Anyway, after going for the school tour yesterday, we are slightly concerned about the wet staircase.
Though we understand because maybe its due to the rain.
But I suppose there should not be too much ponding on the staircases coz its slippery and might be dangerous for the students.
And true enough, my son came back with a bruised lower leg.
He said he fell while going down the stairs because the staircase was wet and slippery.
Hope the school management pays a bit more attention and do something about it.

            Thanks πŸ™‚

I saw the wet staircases on first day of school. Look more like last minutes washing of areas for handing over. But today, I saw raining gushing down at the back edge (opposite bookstore) of the canteen. Currently there is no seats but may pose a problem in future. Also saw few potential areas of water ponding, one or more ladies toilet cistern not aligned properly, water could not refill. I have to lift up the cover to adjust the flushing.

Overall, the building is quite nice and plan with safety features in mind.

I also observe that if the classroom is facing morning sun, it can be quite bright and caused reflection on the whiteboard. I have concerns on the effect on students eyesight. However, those not facing direct sunlight seem to be quite dim althought lights are turn on. Again, these are my own observation on Day 1, hopefully management can take some time to observe and fine tune.

I would like to applaud the teachers efforts in ensuring our kids are in good hands. I personally approached few different teachers for help, they did not hestitate or ask whether my kids are in their class. They just helped or answered your doubts in a polite and professional manner. But, I did spotted one or two unfriendly teachers, who don’t even smile at all. I hope they will quickly adjust to the new challenging environment and contribute to the best of the school.

I come across the Japanese school in Singapore(changi area) where every morning their teachers will line up in a single line at the place where the students is coming in to greet them and give them high five. I personally quite like this practice as I think it will motivate the pupils at the start of the day.

Wonder any parents here put your kids in the school bus? How is their service? They are using one big bus to fetch the whole bt panjang children about 30 - 40 students, more than 30 stops. Whereas for further kids like those in CCK, one mini bus is used. Understand kids shall reach home within an hr. I am wondering for bt panjang areas, if 1 stop takes up about 3 mins or so, 30 more stop will be around 90 mins. If my kids is the last one to alight, he probably will reach home by 330pm or later if there is delay at school. Any parents to share experiences? Later than those kids who stay further from school. Operator will try to cut cost and use 1 bus, sadly I am hestitate to take the school bus after hearing many negative feedback.
