Hi WSPS,
I will like to thank the teachers & staff who had managed to make the best of the dismissal situation today. The children were able to go back within 10 min class by class despite the large crowd of parents at the gate. In the event of fewer parents crowding around the gate & stepping aside for pupils to move out, I’m sure the dismissal will be faster. The attendant lady was announcing the class & I could see the teacher holding the class card to confirm the class. This despite the fact that I was standing a short distance away. I manged to get my kids fairly easily.
Kids are sometimes a bit confused in the first few days especially when parents send them to school in the morning & they take buses home later. Thus I’m no surprised that kids suddenly remember that they are to take buses & return to the bus area. My first kid in other school also couldn’t remember that I was fetching her that she went up the bus on 4th day of school. This was despite the fact that I reminded her numerous time the day before. But ultimately after the 1st week, things got better for her. She got used to the routine & me too. Now I guess my 2nd kid will also have to get used to the dismissal & be able to move even faster next time.
Rest be asssured that times will be better when the kids are more used to school in the weeks to come and we parents also used to the procedures. Also confident that the school is trying its best. Things will be better. -
I talked to my gal’s school bus mate this am who related to me an incident yesterday whereby a boy from our area who boarded a wrong school bus. She said her friend and the grandma is very angry and decided to cancel taking the school bus. Are the bus auntie and uncles checking if they got everyone boarded already?
I was there when the school bus uncle and aunties explained repeatedly to kids for 30 minutes ++ (with all the shouting all throughout) which bus number/letter to board. But still this happens. Despite the bag tagging process and all. I know is also the parents responsibility to keep reminding children which bus number to take but what else can be done to ensure this wont happen again? -
Anyone any idea if 3/2 (Mon) is a school holidays as the 2nd day of CNY falls on a Saturday (1/2).
Thanks. -
Dear Parents / Guardians,
For those of you taking the bus to school, we request for your kind patience over the next few weeks to allow the bus company time to firm up the routings for every child taking the bus. As of now, the bus company is still receiving applications for its bus services. This has led to more adjustments to be made to the routing and timings.
Generally, the first 2 weeks of school will be an adjustment period for your child as he / she adapts to primary school, as well as to his / her transport routine. Hence, parents are encouraged to continue to help their children with their routines and school expectations. Pupils need to pack their bags according to their timetables, as well as according to instructions given by individual subject teachers.
Thank you.
