Checking in with DS started JH1 yesterday! Was touched by the welcome from the seniors when we entered the staircase with upbeat music and cheers - made the JH1s (and their parents) felt like rock stars!

DS' OG has 4 boys and 16 girls..yes there'll be lots of attention for the boys šŸ†’ He mentioned everyone was like one big family.
He will know every boy in his level in the end. Plus the boys of the next level too, I suppose! haha!

Hope you all are signed up on NJC PAACT Facebook. It seems to be updated quite frequently these few days.

According to my elder boy, Senior High 1 boarding is sometime in March for 2 weeks.

So wu liao - 2 weeks.

Is this due to the new Character Education initiated by MOE? Or bcos want to integrate the O lvl candidates into the big family?

We are so excited my girl got NJC. :rahrah:

              Orientation was superb.
7th Jan was very long day for her. She left home 6.10am and returned 7.45pm. After the kayaking/canoeing plus some other activities and later in the evening for 3rd Language course.

Well, guess she will soon be able to adapt to this lifestyle. Best wishes to all JH1 students. :congrats:
First day of school. Wish all NJCian the best.

hi JJ1111, how did ur child and u like te orientation? btw, Mine is in JH2 this year... anyway Welcome to NJC šŸ˜„ šŸ˜„

She like it very much.:) The show put up by the OG committee is very cute. šŸ™‚ We have a good laugh. šŸ™‚

Just that she is a bit stress as she is required to take MRT & bus on her own today. :)
Oh yes, te orientation can be rather fun, dd loved the orientation last yr too, think she was in OG 7... No shes not in the OG committee, only in yr 2 and still fresh.
Ha Ha, dd prefers to go to sch by Mrt but we rather drive her to sch so she cn sleep a little longer, I do let her come back herself after shchool sometimes but she prefer to take public transport.
Hi JJ1111,

Which OG is your child in? Mine is in OG1. I think he's feeling a bit overwhelmed. So many girls. I'm surprised at the large number of girls in JH1. Boys are a minority. Has it always been like this for the JH intake?

Yap, NJC Junior High has a high population of girls šŸ˜‚

not sure about the ratio at Senior High after the intake of O lvl candidates.

There will be more boys at JC level. But in individual classes, might depends on subject combination ? Bc combinations like bio/chem or mainly humanities will still tend to have more girls.

I think the IP students stick to their own IP classes .
Alamak...I was hoping that by SH will be more evenly distributed. But if stick to own class that no hope 🤷
