      Hi Cinderally

If u are former girl of ai tong u should fall under phase 2a
Hence ur best bet is to go for that first.

And RV, are you going to be in phase 2c where u will wait n see if got balloting or not?
If yes then, if u decide to go for RV after u have already secure a seat at ai tong, u must withdraw from ai tong then apply at RV under phase 2c.

Diff phase diff dates. So basically what most do is to secure a seat first in earlier phase then wait and see in later phase.

And you are right. Recent years with more new condo and flats around SAJS, it is becoming popular. Last year there's balloting for more than 2km under phase 2c. Do u still have time to shift now? I tot must live in new place for certain period to qualify?

        Hi ryes and lukemommy,
No need to live in the new place for any fixed period to qualify. They will see NRIC address only. If uncompleted properties, the sales agreement will suffice.

SAJS Phase 2B was balloting >2km and Phase 2C balloting at 1-2km.
Seems safe if you just move within 1km.

we actually PVed at SMPS as back up… right now, we are staying opp SCGS. regretted moving here cos the old place was much bigger and had better luck! and the chances of getting into SCGS is not so high… but we moved here for the school! if we do not try, we will never know right? and hopefully the only good thing that turned out for us for moving here is getting in to SCGS…

if you were me… will you try SCGS at all?

erm, if you PV at SMPS, it's only applicable for Phase2B... if you want to ballot at SCGS at P2C, then u must withdraw SMPS first. SMPS will also be full by P2C so it cannot be considered a back up. It's an alternative if you give up SCGS.

P2C Balloting probability at SCGS is 2 applicants : 1 seat. Need to get a real backup with seats at P2C supplementary. Just try since u already moved opposite the school. If u didn't even try, it will be painful to the heart to watch gals going to the school every morning...

hi cherrygal, thanks for the info… 🙂

hi ryes, Nan Chiau Pri is not a SAP school, only Nan Chiau sec is but Nan Chiau pri has always been strong in Chinese. I remembered when i was in MGSS, the Chinese textbook in Sec 2 or 3 was almost the same as the textbook i studied in Pr 5 and 6 in Nan Chiau…lol

my boy took a year of Chinese speech and drama class last year and yet his Chinese sucks…this year he will take Chinese creative writing and hypy classes, hope will have some improvements…

hi finnfinn, if i were you, i will definitely go for SCGS, afterall you shifted house because of the school…if (touchwood) cannot get in SCGS via P2C, you still can put your gal on the waitlist since you stay just opp the school, i believe higher chance for your gal to get in . All the best 🙂

                Hi Finn

My girl is now in smps after a big round of unsuccessful balloting.
It’s damn stressful to tell u. Since u shifted for scgs then go for it.
Put on wait list. IF u never apply n put on wait list then chances they will call u is slimmer. Priority is given to those who applied and unsuccessful.

Since u stay near scgs, then RGps is also nearby isn’t it?

And like what cherrygal said, u apply smps at phase 2b coz u Pv.
But if u wanna try luck at scgs then u must withdraw and take a risk.

Stress lor. My Chinese cannot make it too. Now struggling with hypy with my gal.
But I had good friends who always helped me in sch whenever teacher asked me to dictate a passage. Lol! Thinking back so funny.

Now that I mention, nc is affiliated to sec sch.
So is sajs to their sec sch.
Yang zheng don’t have affiliation right?

Unless things has changed, there is no affiliation between Nan Chiau Pri n Nan Chiau Sec.

Nan Chiau Pri offer Higher Chinese from p1. Those who dun meet the criteria will drop HCL and switch to normal CL at p5.

                      ryes,

ya, stress man…my hypy also cannot make it coz I didn’t have to take hypy in pri school at that time…ya, sometimes recalled some funny moments during schooldays makes me missed my schools…haha

NCPS is not affiliated to NCHS thus it’s a minus point, SAJ affiliated to SASS so that’s a bonus point, less stressful when comes to choosing sec school . Yangzheng no affiliation too…so from now till July, everyday my mind will be ’ NC or SAJ?’ hope I will not go crazy by then…lol

Personally, I would recommend SAJS. because of its affiliation to Sec School and JC. my hubby and his friends are from SAS and SAJC, I would say, they have had a strong bonding which is built since sec school.

but having said that, if you are not comfortable about the fact that it has religion affilation, it would be good to go NC.

I am also registering my girl this year!!! I prefer to have a school with no religion affiliation.
