Every center has their own method, I have nothing against that … I just hate center trying to find students who happen to do well while studying at their center only at the end of the course and couldn’t be bothered with how the child is progressing… worse still are those centers who conduct pre-assessment test, you only select the best students then of course they will do well right?? What a silly concept and EVEN more silly are parents who actually subject their children to this farce… so no matter how great the centers are and all your teachers come from "ex-XXX" top school I rather choose someone who is actually concern with their progress. Parents, can be a bit kiasu which is why we read this forum right but please have some pride in yourself, no need to subject your children to humilation. This is not a top world institution, its just tuition, next time when your child apply for job, cannot put the tuition center down as part of the CV

My elder child was in Mind Stretcher for 1.5 yr. I pulled her out as there was no improvement. The class size is too big (cannot expect too much though since it’s one of the cheapest tuition centres around) and most of the time, the students were simply taking down answers from the board.

Off hand I can think of 2 centers that conduct diagnostic tests.

Mindstretcher accepts everyone. Then separate the students into Achiever and HA classes. Mindstretcher has way larger enrolment. Even though their fees are lower than those centers that conduct entry test, I believe revenue wise, Mindstretcher confirmed earning more than those centers. By selecting students through diagnostic test, those centers end up restricting their students intake and hence limit their revenue.
I have to say I'm thoroughly impressed with Mindstretcher owners' shrewd business model. There is power in number

However, I'm still pissed with their recent huge % increase in fees

DH gave up teaching DD science and we finally send her to mindstretcher. DD has her 1st lesson this week. DH says notes was good! And no wonder i see so many parents request buying over notes!

Only thing abt mindstretcher very rigid about makeup class. Only accept MC and School letter if class clashes

Oh dear, I think all of you misunderstood me........

Mind stretcher doesn't conduct entry test, I am referring to OTHER tuition centers that do..... I won't mention names but they sure are very good at NAMES DROPPING!!! :slapshead:

What I'm saying is Minstretcher probably earn more revenue than those centres that conduct diagnostic test. centers that conduct entry test end up limiting their own revenue.
