Hi, I got a P3 girl in this school. Just wondering how were the girls grouped in their current class in P3 from P2? Was it through balloting?

Or they already have streamed the girls?

      Thanks…

They streamed based on their results. For last year's P3 cohort Integrity was the top class amd Humility nthe 2nd class although they claimed the other 3 classes were equal. There was some movement between the classes this year based on their results. I think about 5 girls dropped down.

Thanks Brownbelt. Another thing, have you heard about this pull-out class?

My girl told me that she and some girls are in a different pull-out Math class… T
Totally have no idea what it is.

Does the school say which is the top class? I dont remember it mentioned in any meetings? Or maybe I just didnt asked hehehe!

Pullout is for those who didn’t make it into the top class but are strong in that subject. They have it for Emglish as well. We were never told about it by the teachers either; I found out from my daughter.

Any idea which is the top class for this year’s P3 cohort? Does the class name changes each year in which is the top class?

Pullout class is arranged to group students with somewhat similar academic strength or weaknesses (depends on how you see it) so that the children could learn at a more suitable pace.

Top class for P3 2014 is 3P. The top class changes each year. Last year was 3I. However, it’s not about the class, but the guidance and values that your dd received that is more important in her upbringing. Being in the top class does not equate success in life or true happiness for everyone, especially the kid.
                      Just my 2 cents worth.
                      Hope this helps.

Totally agree with your statement. 🙂 coz I think its better for her not to be in top class. Hopefully it has lesser homework 😂
