Schools should take serious action against student intimacy?

Recently, I attended a teenage parenting talk. The speaker mentioned that it is always important that the children learn about important issues such as sex from parents. Otherwise, they will pick up and learn things from their peers or media, which is far from ideal.
So, I guess ks2me and tutormum, you are on the right track! -

Thanks 2ppaamm. Btw, what is an appropriate age to brooch this subject? Now my dd is still having a clinical view of pro-creation process only.Recently, I attended a teenage parenting talk. I always tell her when you are abit older, I will tell you and she will say that mummy you will be really busy because you have so MANY things to tell me when I grow older.. Then she will ask what does it take to be older?

They say about Sec1 or Sec 2. I still have not talked to my girls but I did give a long talk to DS1 when he went to the uni. Main thing is, I know they are already doing it in the uni, so I needed to warn him and explain stuff. Anyone involved with him will commit statutory rape. Ha ha!!! Serious! That was exactly what I told him!

Also, for homosexuality, I make my stand very clear, right from when they are very young. I am very conservative in some of my views. -
2ppaamm:
Oh yes, the countless stories I hear in the uni...it must be tough for him to have to grapple with so many things, schoolwork and social implications. As much as I have no prejudice for homosexual people who made their choice, I also have strong views against my child choosing this path, I believe it is every parents' nightmare. They say about Sec1 or Sec 2. When I was driving him home just now, I asked him why he has to study so late, and whether he is tired.
He told me he is having fun, not to worry. He likes what he is doing. We then went to McDonalds and have a burger. I like that he is more open and a bit more mature now. When he was in Sec school, he was a very dull and unhappy boy. The sparkle in his eyes has returned.
I guess, all the things he has to grapple with pales compared to the joy he has in learning what he loves. That is all I want for him.

Sounds fabulous indeed. Any dull and unhappy child is another parents' nightmare.... My bed must be beckoning me...keep thinking of nightmare...  :lol:When I was driving him home just now, I asked him why he has to study so late, and whether he is tired.

I would love to hear of his immediate reaction to this, 2ppaamm if you
don't mind sharing..
ks2me, for girls... i think at the point of pubescence which in this generation
seems to be much earlier than Sec 1 as compared to our time. I was a
late bloomer myself. Girls who have periods will mean they can already
reproduce. And when their hormones changes, their body changes tho'
they may not realise the impact it has on the boys yet cos the mind may
not mature simultaneously as the body... and knowing young children
these days with their bold experiments... see see touch touch oooh not
too bad aye.. ... nice nice.. wham bam.. too late. Another moment
to note is when they seem to have BGR questions at a certain point. Just
my 2 cents.2ppaamm:
Me three. As open as i am.. though i try to be low profile as possible.. ahakz.. :lol:Also, for homosexuality, I make my stand very clear, right from when they are very young. I am very conservative in some of my views.
I stand on that same pedestal of conservativeness in some of my views too.. -

\"I know lah, don't have to tell me. I am only going to my friend's place to do work, the rest, what they do, I won't get involved. I will not drink also. By the way, quite a few of my friends don't drink. (He then named a few friends one at a time, and why in each case they don't drink, it was very funny.) The girls are also much older than me ma... I am not interested in those things. I don't want to get married, you know.\"
