If the kids have PE they wear PE attire the whole day right?

P1 should be starting PE this week?
What does tgps usu do for CNy? Is there half day?

Yes Pe days are just Pe attire while day. Once time- table out can follow it already and wear Pe attire. No updates on CNY on sch websites so maybe still planning in process. Only saw the dry food donation drive which is like a CNY yearly event.

Typically all schools only operate for a couple of hours during New Year Eve if it is a school day. The kids go to school just for celebration. No actual lesson on that day.

Hi all. What is the past practice when it comes to footwear for the CNY celebration?

CNY outfit with school shoes or other shoes?
                Thanks

Last yr when it comes to such events like racial harmony or national day dress up, I still put DS on school shoes.

Thanks! In the end didn’t wear any CNY outfit. PE attire easier.

                      Hi,

Am registering my son for 2015 P1 intake this year.
Considering Jing Shan, Mayflower or Teck Ghee.

Does Teck Ghee have in-house After School Care?
Any mummies or daddies with kids in the After School Care, is it good/comprehensive?

Appreciate any feedback on Teck Ghee or the other 2 schools.
                      How is the Principal/teachers (motivative/caring…)
Normally there will be an open house closer to the registration date?

                      Thanks for sharing!

                        Hi,

                        Hi Iggie,

Nice to meet you online and glad to hear that you are considering TGPS as one of your choice for your son.

Currently TGPS does not have any In-House after school care which the other 2 schools have. Most of our student go to the BASC at the block next to the school. Normally the BASC will send a few representative to TGPS to pick up the children and walk them back to the centre. I don't have personal experienced about the centre, so cannot share much.

As Minister Heng emphasized - every school is a good school. We, as parents, have to put our trust into the school of choice. 😄
Having said that, we parents, also played an important role in the growing years, so it takes 3 to clap, in this scenario. 😉

I have 2 children in TGPS and I know they are in good hands. Communications are open and updates are as current as it could be. Of course, there are some hiccups along the way but we learn to manage it. My elder girl is in her final year, so wish me luck in PSLE. :boogie:

Last year, there were joint-open houses organized by MOE, so may I suggest you monitor MOE website and see when is the next session for our zonal session. The advantages of such a joint-programme is that you get to talk to all the Principals under one roof. Thereafter, if you would like your child to have a feel of the school environment, you may wish to check with the individual school if they organize \"Local Tours\"....

Good Luck to your upcoming 2015 P1 Registration, we do hope to welcome you and your boy to our TGPS family soon. :xedfingers:

                        Cheers,
                        Astee
