I was wondering about the m-learning & PC sale and my DD has no idea. But if it is postponed to next month then they will get the devices only in end March or April.

      MMM,
I am desperately trying to let go but can't. I have no excuse to drop her as we live so near. So I am trying to find excuses to visit school as much as possible ๐Ÿ˜‰.
I was sort of disappointed that yes it has been postponed to 28th Feb. I also like to visit the school ๐Ÿ˜‰

BTW, did you all manage to get any news on the O levels results? I heard something like 3 scored 10 A1s. At least 5 with 8 or 9 A1s. For the no. above 6A1s, dd said she can't possibly count as there were pages & pages of names.... She didn't say anything on the average L1R5. That's all that I managed to \"squeeze\" out of her... But I don't know how accurate. Well... she probably don't realise that O's is just like another PSLE but with more subjects. So she wasn't really interested in the school performance unlike the anxious ksps.

And once a school has a certain reputation, the newcomers strive to live up to it. Monkey see, monkey do works to our benefit ๐Ÿ˜„ .

Yes true. Monkey see, monkey do.

Initially I wondered how fast dd will make friends as she is not the naturally sociable type. But I was amazed that she knows all her classmates by now and she has recess pals, different transport route pals (eg. to go home by redhill, plaza or bus 132). Encouraging her to open up and make friends in her cca too. She is enjoying her friends and it appear that bonds are built fairly quickly. Must say I am kind of amazed how they did it. Really thankful for that.

Err... I am also kind of thankful that she is in a all girls school. No BGR issues/ distractions to worry about.

Observed homework also starts to build up now.

My DD said more than 50% got 6A1s and above (no doubt pages & pages). Except for Bio & Music, the school is way above national average.

Yes, the speed at which the girls have bonded with each other is amazing. My DD met one of her primary school classmate yesterday who has gone to a top girls' IP school and the friend said that they are quite fragmented in school till now and feels quite lonely. My DD is quite glad that she chose Crescent.

Thanks happy star for sharing. Indeed great performance by the girls. I was searching high and low on the internet on this year's results and came across last year's news. Crescent also produced one of the top 3 performers during O levels last year. Apparently the reporter used their happy and \"crying\" pics and the girls \"protested\" to have the pics change.

As Sec 1 parents, we share the joy with the graduands as well as as the hope that our dd is at least one of the 45% - 50% in 4 years time ๐Ÿ™ .

dd was sharing with us this am that due to good results, principal is planning to give the girls 1/2 day off. She was hoping that it would be new year eve so that they can go back to visit her pri teachers. She was hoping that her Sec 2 - Sec 4 seniors will continue to do well so that in the next 4 years, she will have additional 2 days off ๐Ÿ˜† . So I told her that she better make sure her batch produces good results so that her juniors can benefit too!

My DD was very proud of Crescentโ€™s results. Told her that they have to keep the school flag flying high in 2017 O levels.

Crescent has always done well but, with the big names turning into IP, it has come into its own in the past few years as a leading O level school. Hope the good run continues. From what I have seen till now, they seem to have all the systems in place to encourage students to excel and not just in academics. I thought that the Principalโ€™s talk on the day of seminar was very focussed, giving clear cut goals and their plans towards achieving them, without any platitudes or jargons. Waiting for the next seminar to hear further.
