I remember the time when girls wore the belt so low that the pinafore looks like a maternity dress !!! The discipline mistress will tell us that if she ever catches any of us not wearing the belt or anywhere below the waist, she will replace it with a SHOCKING PINK sash.
When I first transferred to IJ Kellock in P5, the girls in the class would lift up my pinafore and will start giggling :x when they saw my underwear. From then on, I wore a pair of shorts everyday. -

think the discipline mistresses of IJ are not stern enuff.....to eliminate the lowly belted pinafore seen. -
Augmum:
One IJ in Sengkang has the belt sewn onto the pinafore to prevent the pinafore from looking like a maternity dress. I think that is a very good idea, so that the girls cannot 'modify' the pinafore.

Am I behind time here? :? Are all IJs doing that or just the one in Sengkang? :? -
actually, the belt is already sewn on the pinafore (as for IJ katong during my gal’s time), it’s so easy to unpick it.

haha, that confirms that I am way behind time! -
25hourmaid,
You are not the only one behind time. I think I am worse
Belt sewn on the pinafore ? I remember we used to remove the belt during lessons right after PE because it was hot and uncomfortable.
I happened to see the IJ Toa Payoh website. It mentioned something about P1/2 PE shirt having collar. I don't remember PE tops having collar leh. What else is new now ? :? -
Hi mummies....I'm new to this thread. Can anyone advise if the school is conduction single session classes or 2 session classes?
Thanks a million... -
Hi all,
I will be registering my daughter this year. I would really like to put her in OLGC as i find the environment more peaceful. I just called the sch and although she is a catholic but because we are just out of the 1km, she will fall under 2C and ballot. It’s a real pity cause I’m just moving out of my current place (within 1km) coming April to across the street (outside 1km). sigh…
I am an old girl of TP and will qualify for phase 2A2.
My new place is in Serangoon Ave 3 (current Ave 2), therefore OLGC would be considered closer.
Questions:
Should I take the risk with OLGC under 2C balloting? The admin said there was no balloting for 2009 and everyone who applied got in as it was a low birth rate year. I ask about this year and she could not comment. Or should i be safe with TP?
Reading the thread, I still can’t quite figure out which is an overall better school environment?
Some help please. Thanks in advance. -
I don’t understand. If you are Catholic, then even if you stay beyond 2Km, you will still be registering under Phase 2B. Why 2C?

Hi belbuttons,
Like yourself, I am also an old gal of TP and will register daughter under 2A2. Admin told me there has been no balloting for Phase 2A2 before.
Is TP very much further for you at Serangoon ? Next year, TP will be relocating to Geylang Bahru for 2 years until Dec 2012.
Last year’s (2003) batch also had no problems registering because there were lesser kids.
