      Hi mummies,

would like to ask for some advise.
Im registering my girl for P1 this year. Stress....

My hubby is an old school boy of a neighbourhood primary school, so I would be able to register my girl in Phase 2B, however im thinking of registering my girl in a better primary school which is within 1KM, but from the past history, balloting was required. Its a popular school.

Im in a delimma whether to register my girl in my hubby old school or to register for a better school in Phase 2C. Should I give up my Phase 2B chance??

You will be eligible for 2A2 at your hubby's old school. 2B is for parent volunteers and other connections. You can register for your hubby's school first and observe whether you stand any chance at the popular school at 2C, like what some do.

      Hi rain,

do you mean that I should register at Phase 2A2 1st then observe the vacancies available at Phase 2C for the better school? If I get into the Phase 2A2, I have to withdraw before I can apply for Phase 2C right?

If you want to play safe, you can consider doing that. But if history shows that your hubby's school always has vacancies left after 2C, then it shouldn't be a cause of concern.

          Hi mummies,

I’ll like to enroll my son to SJIJ, we are staying between 1-2km. The school doesn’t accept any PV. Which phrase should I be? Is it Phrase 2C?

                  Hi

Im in a dilema. I can register my son in my girl’s schl i.e. DLS with affiliation to sec schls for boys and also i can register my son in my hubby’s schl in ACS. Which schls shld i choose? For the latter, my son needs to catch the schl bus at 530am and back home at 3pm! Whereas the nearby neighbrhood schl he can goes to schl at 7am and back home by 1.30pm or so…

Withdrawal should be quite fast, and yes, you can register immediately at another school. One parent will normally station him/herself at the first school, while the husband/wife will be at the other school. Then once decided to withdraw, one will do the withdrawal and the other will register at school B.

But don't do it at the very last moment as you have to take into consideration of queuing time, computer delay, etc.
I'm curious to understand how the registration works. Do you mean there is a live display counter to show parents the places taken during the registration for that day? if not how would you know when to withdraw from school A and register for school B?

may you provide an scenario example please?

                    thanks

Yes schools will have a live display counter.. it's like a stockmarket. Hearts will be thumping madly when numbers go up/down. And parents will have sleepless nights.. it's a wild few weeks.
