2)    98% qualify for both Junior College and Polytechnic. 
3)    More than half of the students (55%) have obtained 5 or more distinctions.

So far my experience the teachers also very IT savvy...I guess to keep up with the students. Not surprise they know kiasuparents

I have checked with my DD who has attended the selection camp last year and she replied that the interview is done in a group after the activity. Questions asked are why do you choose SST, who contributed the most & the least during the activity, what do you think you can improve your design if your group design prototype fails.

But who knows that they may change the question since they know about Kiasuparents. What matter the most is that your child has passion in Science, read extensively for Science articles and participate actively as a team during Selection camp. Whether the final design prototype pass or fail is not so important. It's the process which the group brainstorm and work hand-in-hand together to produce the end-result, matters the most.

When my son was in sec 1 and 2, he had chinese and maths textbooks. The rest of resources were found in the school google site or school notes. In sec 3 and 4, there are texbooks for most subjects in preparation for O level.

Thanks.[/quote]This year's sec 1s are using Shinglee's New Syllabus Maths, for Science the textbook is optional and no books for English. Anyway they don't use textbooks in lower sec except for MT. Most of the time notes and worksheets are given by the teachers.

Besides, what were they asked to build as a team? It seems like DSA to SST whether via academic or CCA, everyone has to go through the same selection process?

For my DS1’s time, is to build a strong bridge to hold the most loads using ice-cream sticks and other materials. For my DD2’s time, is to build a stable bungee platform for the bungee jumper. A marble tied to a string represents the bungee jumper tied to the rope. You have to build a platform using chopsticks, papercup, straws, etc to make the bungee platform. The activities are more like those team building games. Both my children have fun during the selection camp.


For my kids, they DSA through academic route. Not very sure whether DSA through CCA goes through the same selection process.

No matter what the DSA outcome is, it is sure a good experience for your DC. If SST is your DC's dream school, use this as a motivation for your child to put in effort and study hard. :rahrah:

What kind of results must the kids obtained in the past years in order to qualify for DSA academic? Must all the subjects be Band 1/A*?
Is P6 CA1 and SA1 results required?
