Meaning they are not taking in any sec 1 for choir??
Heard that boys can still go...will find out more tomorrow during the briefing and CCA exhibition.
Heard from DD that choir is full and no audition for girls. :sad:zae:
Hi,
Does anyone here know anything about Chinese Drama in dhs? Or softball? DD is keen to know more about these 2 CCAs, in order to fill in her choices for CCAs. Any info (time commitment etc) /advice is much appreciated! -
mandm:
Thanks, jellylulu, for the info. Hmmm... 2-3 days a week sounds quite heavy. Do all core CCAs require at least 2 days of practice per week?
Most sports CCA will have 3 days of practice per wk, performing arts 2 - 3 times & UG 1 - 2 times. Before competition or performance, might have extra practices... -
Just putting it out there, DHS choir is NOT full, the auditions for the boys were annual boys trial the girls audition are taking place in the following weeks. People interested should put choir as their FIRST choice and also the people in choir are really nice and friendly

The Sec1 will be having their 成语考查 soon on week 5.
成语考查(一)范围、考查形式
成语(1-30)
考查形式:填充题(7题)、看解释填成语(8题)

Saw the Maths book that the teachers compiled. Wow! Very impressive. Teachers put in so much effort! :salute: -

I really don’t understand something. Performing arts CCAs have concerts usually only during may and october/november, some even once every 2 years. And yet some parents are complaining that their children are spending too much money on concerts and it also causes them to have no time to spend with their children. First of all, if your child chooses to go to a concert, which are so rare, over spending time with you, it means he/she either thinks that he/she spends enough time with you and/or is happier with his/her friends. And for the pricing of tickets, is $10 really a lot? Other schools have CCAs performing in esplanade where the cheapest ticket is more than $10. And by making concerts free does it solve a problem or create one? Several performing art CCAs have paid concerts that are always sold out, by making it free what if the number of people that show up exceeds the capacity of the PAC? People will be angry and sad that they have to sit on the steps, and also more people= more noise, creating a less pleasant environment to watch the concerts. And also the money paid goes to the school, which spends money on your children. Thus, i urge u to think again, concert periods are at most twice a year and are $10 per ticket, does that 2 hour/ $10 cost you a lot? If this has changed your mind i urge you to write to the school telling them that you understand why it should charge for concerts

My dd always attends such concerts to support her friends who are performing. I don’t find it an issue with rgds to paying $10 n the time spent.

Hi - five...Same goes for my gal...
She would go back to sch in the evening to attend such concerts if her lessons ended early...
So as to give support to her performing frens...
We dun find it an issue too, paying $10 for the concert tickets... -
Happy Chinese New Year to everyone.
Today my DD and her classmates brought mandarin oranges to school for their teachers
