Hi goosiegoose, based on years 2006-2008 statistics, CHIJ st nicholas conducted balloting under phase 2B for less than 1km. Hence you would not even have a chance to ballot since you are only staying within 2km even if you do PV.

          Try to target another school.

            thanks!

so the only way i could even think of getting my girl into st nicks is to move within 1 km and then do PV? and admission is not for sure too since I will need to ballot? FAINT!

the other near school for me is aitong! I think I am also within 2 km. would doing PV for this school give me a better chance?

and that is another popular school too? what other choices do i have?

Aitong slightly better chance but you would most probably need to ballot if u do PV and stay within 2km. PV plus within 1km will get in if based on last 2 yearsโ€™ trends.

                hi luanee

                where are the statistics?

what about nyph and rgph? i am seriously thinking of moving to within 1 km to these 2 schools.

would staying within 1 km and doing PV guarantee a place in these 2 schools?

                thanks very much!

                  NYPS phase 2B stats:

                  2004 : No balloting
                  2005 : Ballot for out of 2km
2006 : Ballot for within 1km (Dragon bb year)
                  2007-2008: No balloting

                  RGPS phase 2B stats:
                  2004-2008 : No balloting

Difficult part is to get accepted as a PV in the first place, and do note NYPS needs 80hrs instead of the usual 40 hrs. What you can do is to apply to a few schools then move to within 1km of the one which accept you. But problem is some school may reject you if they see your address is out of 2km. Maybe you should state in your application letter of your intention to move.

But actually if you want to move within 1km of RGPS, you do not need to do PV at all because under phase 2C, RGPS only conducted balloting for those staying out of 2km, based on past few years trends.

that is very good advice. Thanks! I shall apply to be a PV for those few schools first. For a child born in 2006, when should I apply to the schools?

Born in 2006 means register in 2012? Then apply in end 2010.

Hi, I have to register my son for Primary School this year and I'd like some advice on the chances of my son getting into Catholic High.

We are Catholics and we fall under 2B. We live just outside the 2km parimeter. Do you think we have chances of getting into that School? If we fail to get in, our 2nd choice would be Maris Stella High. But do we naturally fall under 2C if we fail our first choice (ie CH)? If we choose Maris Stella as first choice, we'd be placed under 2B cos of church affliliation. I'm afraid we'd be placed under 2C cos we didn't register as first choice in the beginning.

                        Appreciate any advice ๐Ÿ˜„
